I haven’t written anything for several days, with the exception of basically the gratitude journal I keep. Mostly everyday I’m thankful I got through my yoga routine, that I walked out in nature, and always for my husband, who makes my life a lot easier in so many ways.
So, this is just what you might call random thoughts about the illusion I’m living. I look at it all as illusion. The illusion can be good or bad. It’s what you make it. It’s how you perceive it. We suffer so much from how we perceive and judge our situations.
I mention yoga above. My husband and I have been doing a form of yoga, or rather I should say trying to do a form of yoga together, very different from the diluted version I was doing on and off for the last five years. Still after seventeen days, and barely being able to do only modifications of the proper forms of the poses, my body aches as though I’ve had a rigorous personal trainer breathing down my throat. On the CD, the instructor says if you feel this way you must be happy because you are getting benefit. With this in mind I would fall in the category of ecstatic. He also says, if you can control your spine, you don’t have to chase God. God will chase you. As Chris is doing the camel pose, he yells out, “Oh, God, and I think, it must be working for him.”
A good part of the illusion or dream we are living deals with household projects. This is a new thing for me, or relatively new, taking place during the last seven years. Until then the house was basically falling down around me. We have almost replaced every appliance in our house during the last six years. Everything had just basically gotten to that very olden age, dying of natural causes. We were basically down to the washer and dryer. A few days ago the dryer just gave out. It gasped for breath a few times during its final days trying to hang in there.
My husband looked at the date on it, discovering it was twenty-six years old. Also, the color was gold, if that tells you anything. Maybe some of you remember when appliances were brown, avocado or gold. The oven I replaced six years ago was brown. We replaced the brown range top a couple of years ago, and the white refrigerator last year. We might as well hand over our paycheck to Lowe’s. The new washer and dryer will be white. My first thought was stainless steel as that is what I’ve been going with for all replacements. Considering they will be hidden in a closet I opted for the less expensive version in white.
Several of my friends have called me the queen of serendipity or of synchronicity, meaning I have an uncanny ability to make the law of attraction work in my favor. Some times I see so clearly the dream around me adjusting to the ebb and flow of my thoughts. The dryer seemed to cough and sputter with my indecisiveness in whether I wanted the dryer to last or just replace it.
I have so many examples of this. While standing in line at Starbucks I was eyeing the gingerbread snowmen cookies. There were only two there, one of which was broken. I whispered to my husband, I want a gingerbread cookie, the one that is intact, although if they offer the broken one to me for free I’ll take that one. I thought, if I’m lucky someone will get the good one and I’ll negotiate for the bad one. We approach and order. The girl behind the counter bags up the good cookie for me, placing it on the counter while she fixes our drinks. While waiting, a little girl of about six just reaches over and takes it while her mother is ordering. The employee says, “Sorry, will you take this other one for free?” We are on our way to a spiritual retreat. This is the woo-woo crowd. I mean that in a good way. They are easily impressed with these small miraculous events that happen on a daily basis in my life.
This is a somewhat bigger woo-woo event. A couple of years ago, one weekend, my husband and I were looking at a map of the United States and listing all the states we had been in. I later thought I’ve never been to New York City. I casually thought it would be nice to see it. I thought I’ll talk about this to Chris later, and maybe we can at least look into going someday. Affordability was the main concern. I had forgotten about it. The following day, when he returned to work, he sent me an email, asking me how I would like to see Manhattan. My first thought was is he talking about Woody Allen’s movie, until I read the attachment further down, where a professor didn’t have time to take the business trip and could Chris go in his place. This was definitely a moment of wow for me.
Back to the washer and dryer….Considering what we found after pulling the old ones out, I spent the morning painting and steam cleaning the slot for the new washer/dryer set, which was to be delivered today. I asked my husband, “Do you think the delivery men have seen worse?” Being a past cable guy (no, he’s nothing like Larry), he casually, said, “Oh yeah, they’ve seen worse.” Last night as we were getting the old ones out my mind was humming with new projects.
Luckily I have a husband who thrives on projects and can do most anything – plumbing, carpentry, tile work, you name it. I say, “Maybe down the road, we can move these in the back bathroom where our ironing board and clothes hamper is. This would make everything much more convenient – no carrying the clothes through the dining room, etc. However, considering they would be delivered the next day there would be no time in getting all that ready. Obviously, I had subconsciously sent revised instructions to the universe. Lo and behold, the phone rang today. Of course, there was a problem. The washer was damaged and they would be able to deliver a new one on Saturday. “Hmmm, is this giving us enough time to convert the new space hopefully.” We will see how this one plays out.
To give you an example of my husband’s handiness, one day I casually mentioned that I wish that I had had the forethought to have the ironing board placed over a couple of feet. We have one of those built in ironing boards. He just said, “No problem, I can move it easily.” I might be getting spoiled. My first time around was just the opposite. My expectations got lower and lower as the years went by. The house was literally falling in. After the divorce I moved all the furniture in the living room to the corner of the floor that wasn’t on the ground. I think there were lessons there. I basically learned not to care too much about material things or keeping up with the Joneses.
I basically for the most part go for the simplier things in life. I have no Christmas list, well maybe some tea, and snow, and walking out in the woods in the snow with Chris. That would be a cool Christmas. I would go on, but don’t want to flag the article.

either. Sounds a bit stale, but my wish everyone is peace, health and love! I loved your
article!
I use a microwave for popcorn. I really think they are bad for you. Other than that I use it for storage. So, when I do popcorn, I have to clear everything out. Chris worked at GE, so he won't get GE appliances.
Don't worry about chasing God. He'll never stop chasing you as long as you breathe. You were much to expensive for Him to ever give up on you, or any of us. He will hunt you down and shower you with love until you surrender. Who do you think sent you your wonderful husband? You are blessed!
We can use this to correct all the crazy out-of-balance energies afflicting us now (check out Dave McGill's article, "MEANWHILE, BEHIND OUR BACKS") - just simply shifting the way we think can help heal the whole of humanity and its relationship to the planet.
You've shown us this in simple, personal ways - and this can encourage a great many people to try, and keep trying.
Feature! YES!
This is a great article. Your articles always make me think.
I loved your attitude throughout...obviously, you have the law of attraction on your side!

Thanks.
I too, have a lot of synchronicity that goes on around me.
I have to be careful what I wish for though.
