Does age really matter?

If both people are adults. Than I really don't see any problem with an a difference. My grandfather married my stepgrandmother. She is young enough to be his daughter.

If both people are adults and you are compatible then age does not matter. My husband is 5 1/2 yrs older than I am and we are two peas in a pod . I was never attracted to men my age because at the time their maturity levels were way below mine. It all depends on what a person is looking for in a relationship. Love should conquer all else!

I don't think age is important. Before I married my husband, I dated a few guys that were 10 years or so older than me. One of my friends married a guy who had two children older than her. They have been married since 2002, and are still together and happy.

as long as both are over 21 .... then no... I married at 17 to a 25 yr old man who lived next door...my mom and dad should have shot him...first then asked questions later.

I don't think that age matters as long as you're 18 or older (which means as long as you're legal, obviously). Many of my family have married older/younger than themselves by a long way. My parents were 13 years apart and my cousin is married to someone that's about 21 years older than her. Age doesn't really matter as long as they're in love.

Age only matters is you are cheese or whiskey. I don't need to comment on the minor issuse, as we all understand that we are adults talking about other adults.

Age matters a lot. For some people a spouse 20 years older is just right and someone younger or of the same age would be intolerable. But those folks are rare.

For most people the relationship of love needs the two to be equals in power with respect to each other. A great age difference makes this more difficult.

For most people the relationship of love needs intimate communication and quick understanding. A great age differenct makes this more difficult.

There are many more ways that age difference is important just as is religius differences and ethnic differences and education differences and so forth.

But it's none of my business whom anybody else falls in love with. I may give advice but it's only that, advice. It isn't a command and they aren't being immoral to ignore my advice. (I think they may be foolish but that's just my ego. :-)

So though one may find that statistically age matters, you aren't a statistic you're a human being and only you know just how you feel. So be careful, be cautious, and be certain but know your own mind and feelings and proceed with confidence.

It doesn't matter a lick to us. There are 23 years between us, but we don't notice it. He actually has a son that is older than I am.

The only thing that I worry about is that down the road, let's face it, I will be alone. I just make sure that he takes care of himself, eats right and never take a moment for granted.


Most people that we encounter don't notice a difference. I am not sure that I like that, because that sort of means that I look old! I know that I don't because I still get carded, but still, you have to wonder. There has only been one time that I heard a snide comment about the difference and that was from some drunk woman in a bar, so I didn't give it any credit.

I am just not attracted to men my age (51). I have dated one older person and it was a train wreck. I'll stop traffic just to ogle at a good-looking youmger man. One time I rode around a construction site three times to check out the younger men. I might be over 50, but I ain't dead!!

I think it's one of those things that depends on the two people.

I don't think it really does. My husband is 13 years older than me. I think it has a lot to do with where each person is in their lives, where they want to go, their goals, interest and maturity. Age doesn't necesarily make your more mature or intelligent.....

I agree with you. As long as both parties are adults, age shouldn't matter.

As long as they're adult and compatible with each other, age different is not a problem.

What is important is can they make each other happy.

Age does not matter...but for a relationship, the mind should be similar...younger or older, each brings a different perspective but, like minds, rare and beautiful...

Heck no, age doesn't matter. Somewhere a long the line, people will realize that age has little to do with a person. It's who they are inside, what makes them tick...that counts. While age does hopefully bring about maturity, it's not a given. We are who we are, no matter the age our body is.

75% of the men I dated were 7-10 years younger than me. I did't seek them out, it just happened. You have a good time w/ someone then find out they're younger. What are you gonna do? Dump them? For the most part, they're more mature than guys my own age (52). When I was 42, I dated a 26 year old for a few months. I don't look/act my age, and guys my age are mostly unattractive, tired and boring, not all, but most. Age doesn't matter........

I hope age doesn't matter because my hubby to be is 28 years younger than me. We are very much in love and very compatible. The only thing that bothers me is I know he will probably be left alone to raise our children himself .
