Well, I decided to do it. I have gotten a job. Sorda.

I will be watching friends' kids each weekday for a few hours. The worst part is getting up early, but it isn't so bad. The kids are very well behaved so it's easy money. Next thing you know, I'll have my own show and I won't even have an annoying British accent.

And better yet, I still have most of the day for Gathering!

How many kids and what ages? Are they coming to your house or will you go to theirs????Also, let me know what gourmet goodies you fix them for snack time/lunch! And, GOOD LUCK!

Marianne, they range in age from about 6 to 12. I go to their house, it's much easier that way. Matt and I aren't set up for "kid friendly". No gourmet goodies yet, but we did have cheezits dipped in peanut butter yesterday ;)

Lynn, I have already got some stuff in mind for dinners!

Good luck! I did the nannying thing over the summer in high school. The little girl was a brat, and even threatened to call the police on me one day because I wouldn't let her watch TV. I personally would have let her watch all the TV she wanted, but her mom had a strict rule about only 30 min. each day, and would ask her what shows she watched to make sure I was following the rule. The only good thing about the job was she paid very well. Then in college I babysat alot, and most of those kids were well behaved. Good luck with the job!

It DOES pay well, Lisa, so I just couldn't say no. Luckily no brats, but the youngest is a little pistol and I have to keep my eye on him.

Remember...give them lots of sugar and chocolate right when it's time for them to leave. You won't have to deal with them being hyper then. Or better yet...you can always have me help you watch them. (That would surely take care of them being so well-behaved!)

Back when I did it we called it babysitting, but I spent 2 summers of my life watching 3 kids all day at their home, hardest money I ever earned! Only good thing about it was that it was tax free. Hey at least your gig doesn't involve diapers!

I'll tell them tomorrow that Uncle Rob said they could have sugar. LOL! Actually their mom is a health nut. The kids get fruit, skim milk, cheese, etc. for snacks. No sugar.

I wouldn't have done it if it involved diapers, Mog. Wouldn't know how to change one to save my life.

Vicky, I was thinking a Nanny Chronicle or something like that.

Oh, brave girl! I always said I love my kids, and a few select others...but, I couldn't nanny. One question...why aren't they in school?

I think you will be great at this, you get to play with kids...but, go home to quiet dogs. It seems like a really nice option for you.

Have fun!! When I was a stay at home mom, I took in a few extra kids during the day. It gave my youngest some one to play with. Then they all started school full time and I started spending time at the school volunteering.
