Two Days Until Vegas and Barry Manilow!

Courtesy of Gather and Sony records, Hubby and I will be flying to Vegas Friday to fulfill my lifelong dream of seeing Barry Manilow. Our tickets are good and are for Saturday night. I just really want to thank everyone who voted for me. All of the entries were great and I really do wish I could take all of you with me. We'd have a great time! I still can't believe it's happening and it's so much more than I expected. Everyone, especially Liz, has been so great.

If you've never won a contest on Gather, you should enter. My experience with Gather is that it is a really classy organization. A car is even coming to our house to pick us up and drive us the 60 miles to the airport. Wow...I never thought about that. There's even a chance (dare I say this) that I might even get to meet Barry.

 My co-workers and my family are so excited for me. I've been a big Barry Manilow fan since the seventh grade. I have a bunch of scrapbooks filled with Barry Manilow memoriabilia. Now, finally, I'm heading west to meet the greatest singer of my lifetime, a man whose music has gotten me through some down times and lifted my spirit, helping me celebrate the good times. 

 My husband isn't a Barry Manilow fan, and we've had some interesting subjects. He keeps (jokingly) threatening to sell his ticket to the show. Last night, I decided I had heard enough of his nonsense. I told him for the rest fo the evening, I would only speak to him in Barry Manilow lyrics. That made for an interesting and hilarious evening for both of us!

My three-year-old niece is excited about my trip and wants to go, too. She's called me every night to remind me that Barry Manilow is her favorite singer, too.

I don't know if I'll have a chance to post again before we leave, but I do want to thank everyone. So, here's to Las Vegas!
