Mike Huckabee has a campaign ad running in Iowa with Chuck Norris in it. The ad just proves how amateur Mike Huckabee is and that he does not have a serious position on immigration. Mike Huckabee's Immigration plan: "Chuck Norris." This is the type of ad you would expect from a kid running for class president not President of the United States. It is time for Mike to step aside and let serious candidates talk about real issues.

That is NOT going convince any Ron Paul suporters but it may fool some of the people out there. Too bad their RECORDS don't back their statements like Ron Paul's do.
That said, I too questioned the wisdom of running the Chuck Norris ad which I saw only because it was shown on the cable news networks. I thought it was pretty silly simply because it appeals mainly to those who could not separate actors from the type of characters who they portray and as such it was an insult to voter intelligence as I think is the case with many celebrity endorsements.
Maybe that's true, but I'm in some kind of minority if it is. The illegal immigration issue is important to me because it's a national security issue. For me, it has little to do with jobs being taken away, although I do have issues with the fact that those who are coming here legally go through so much red tape to do so, while illegals sidestep the process.
It just seems slightly ironic that while we spend billions of dollars in the name of defending our country against terrorists, we leave its borders wide open to little less than sending written invitations to the same. How anyone at all can think that illegal immigration is a minor issue is not even considering the obvious. You cannot insult the intelligence of the fool and the candidates don't give a flying fig if their votes come from geniuses or morons. Huckabee is merely capitalizing on this, and for that you can't blame him.
As I said, I am more serious about it because of its threat to national security, but I have to take great pains to fill out those lousy I-9 forms every time I hire a contractor to send out to a company for a job. Every state should audit companies' files to see that this has been done. It should actually be the job of the INS, but it's just an another inept government agency. I know you're gonna love that last part, Clark.
