My heart is broke for the young Father and Grandmother of Rylie Anne Sawyer. 

This two year old baby died a horrible death and the treatment of her broken and lifeless body disturbs me

I do not understand how someone could treat a baby or any human for that matter the way this poor little baby girl was treated.

I feel the Mother and Stepfather should be treated the way she was treated.

I hope everyone agrees with me.

I just don't understand this abuse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I look at my six year old, 13 year old and 18 year old sons, I am so thankful for their safety.  I just want to take them to my chest and hold them and be thankful they are alive.  I cannot begin to understand the grief the young father (Robert Sawyer) is going through over knowing that he will never see his daughter again after searching for her since June 2007.  Now to know the horrible treatment she received after her mother took her to TX.  I just cannot understand how things like this can happen.  

I just want to sit and cry for this child and her family.  She would have been 3 years old on March 31, 2008.  A young precious life ended so tragically.  I just don't understand it

Some people just shouldn't be parents. I hope the state doesn't make any deals with them and they spend the rest of their lives in jail.

This is terrible news. I've been watching this story because I'm in NE Ohio not too far from where the dad lives. It's been getting some intense media coverage. There are some sick people in the world today.

This is just horrific. Anytime a child suffers a meaningless death like this at the hands of "loved" ones, I'm just appalled. How could anyone do such a thing?? I agree with Jesse J., the mother and stepfather should be treated the same way they treated her.

Oh my this makes me cry as well! We have a baby in OKlahoma that was killed by the mother and stepfather also... This poor baby had been so abused that she was once in 2 leg casts ata a time.. one picture they show she had a black eye... when DHS did nothing but give her back the unthinkable happened! The poor daddy to this baby was in the marines or something.. can you imagine his pain.. its sick I wish This crap would stop! I just dont get it!! There are so many people out there that want to adopt but the adoption center from what I ahve heard is sooo screwed up people are going other places to get them a baby. Its just heartbreaking!

Reminds me of the story a few years ago of the mother who locked her kids in the car then let the car roll into the water, drowning them.
To say I was beside myself is a VERY LARGE understatement...

And to think that this kind of thing still happens!

I know it's probably wrong, but I've been ignoring the details of this story because I get nauseous every time I hear about stuff like this.

So sad to imagine how scared that little girl must have been.

The little girl was so beautiful and innocent looking, I can't understand how anyone could want to hurt her. If her mother and stepfather didn't want to be bothered with her, I'm sure that there are many other people who would have taken her and loved her. Probably her father and grandparents among them. And for the mother to store her body in a garage before finally dumping her in the water in a box. How could anyone be so cold and uncaring and unfeeling. I hope the mother and stepfather never get out of prison and never have more children.

Janet, I wanted to also say, the father had been in a custody battle with the Mother. The last court hearing was in May 2007, that was the last time he had seen his daughter. They had been looking for her.

What a terrible tragedy. I hope the people responsible will be punished. Death is too easy for them. They need to live with the memory of what they did while they spend the rest of their lives in prison.
I don't understand it either.
I wish crimes like these would not happen.

RIP little Riley. At least her pain is over. This story has bothered me so much. Most of us wouldn't dream of mistreating our pets yet some people seem to abuse their kids as a form of recreation.

That is so sad. I just dont understand people any more. There is way too much of this kind of cruelty going on in our society. :(

Death is too good for him and the mother, but they should not be behind bars at the expense of taxpayers for the rest of their lives either. There should be some type of punishment for those who act like barbarians.....................treat them barbaric!
