Publishing inprovement sugegstion!

OK, whoever is in charge of gather, listen up.  I love this site!  I have a suggestion to make it even better!

 

When publishing things and you have to select which groups to publish it to you should have the moderated groups either at the top, or bottom or completely seperate somehow.  This way it would be easier to avoid posting things that don't belong in that group.  And easier to find when posting specifically for that group.  Also it would save the people running these groups tons of time removing unrelated things as most people just publish everything to all groups they belong to.

 

Also a "publish to all groups" option would be nice.

I like it. I wish there was a way to group the groups! :-) Seriously, If I have a bunch of photography groups, I'd like to be able to add Photography Groups and list those groups under it. Same would go for Politics, Art, Post-All Groups, etc. Of course Gather seems to have its own list of priorities as to what they want to add/include/upgrade. They used to asked me for my suggestions. That didn't last very long! :-(

I think this is a good suggestion. Moderated groups should all be at the top, or bottom of list. It would sure help all of us.

If you look good it does tell you the group is moderated.
Why would someone post a picture of your arm to a game group that is moderated?
Your right it would save on removing unrealted articles etc if people just looked closer.
The group name usally tips us off as to what to post where.

Yes, many of us have asked about sorting our groups for some time now but that request seems to be ignored.
Anyway, publish to all groups isn't really a good option because it makes it even easier for people to do that and post stuff that doesn't belong in those groups making us group owners have to waste time clearing out our groups.
Such as... this was posted to my Picture Post group and there is no picture in here and doesn't belong in that group.

I like your interesting take on the spelling of the word 'suggestion'.... which is what caught my eye to this great idea! Brilliant!

I have to agree with Michael. All too often I realize after the fact that a certain image I put up somewhere is just never going to go there. Or one that I omitted that really should have been there. It is just so voluminous to be boggling and I just can't stop! ;-)

Great idea. I would also like to self-categorize some of my groups like "anything" (for groups you can publish anything to), "family" (for stories about kids, etc), and "writing" (for things which involve writing as a craft), etc.

I totally agree! I would love to be able to sort my groups into moderated, Art, post all, Etc. It would save me time and prevent me from posting to the wrong groups depending on the subject.

I agree that would be nice. I would also like to see an option where we are able to select which page of our photos/articles we would like to look at instead of having to page through them one by one!

I like that idea. I also like the idea of being able to create a group of groups to publish to. For example, all the points groups could be a group or all of the family groups could be a group for quicker publishing.

How about coordinating both ideas - "publish to all unmoderated groups" option? Though, to be honest, I wish there were more moderated groups so I could go to a page and know what what I would find.

Some groups are already sorted by categories, but not all by any means. I do find that many of the photography groups are together and many of the recipe or garden/gardening groups are also grouped together....but then....there is the errant recipe group listed all by itself far, far away from all the others.....I don't know why.
