I virtually had to sneak this one in the house. My 14 year old saw it with his friends, and was utterly dismissive. The best he could say was that it was about as good as one of the cartoons.
Well, I've loved the toys since I first saw them on a business trip in Japan. I bought a die cast metal transformer plane (by the time they reached the US, they were plastic.)
The movie definitely had flaws. The dialog was awful. The actors themselves weren't bad, a little broadly played, but oh my god, the main characters, the transformers themselves were not only technically amazing, they were, if you can believe it, totally believable!
Maybe I'm too much a fan boy, but the action sequences were amazingly choreographed, and totally compelling.
So, if you want a little popcorn enjoyment, check out the Transformers movie!
