Study Finds Immigrants Pull Weight in Economy

"Immigrants contribute nearly 1/4 of the economic output of New York State, & outside of New York City, are overrepresented in some of the most critical occupations, including higher education and health care, according to a study to be released today," reports The New York Times.

Some of the most motivated people I have met are those who came here from S.E. Asia. The entire family will put in 18 hour days to make a business a success (and they VALUE education).

My mother came to Canada from Denmark in '57. They were quite privilaged in Denmark, but Mormor and Morfar still thought they could have a better life here. We were raised to be thankful for our homes, being born here, but never to forget our roots. It was a wonderful family to grow up in.
