"Dodd is the one for me"

A letter to the editor it today's Des Moines Register:

A Peace Corps volunteer as a young man, Chris Dodd has devoted his professional and personal life to the crucial issues of our communities - children and families, education, child care, the environment and improved quality of life.

He helped end our country's involvement in the civil wars in Central America, he worked patiently and tirelessly to pass the Family and Medical Leave Act, he spearheaded legislation to establish Head Start programs, and he did all this while reaching out across the aisle in the Senate to work collaboratively and cooperatively.

He's passionate about restoring the U.S. Constitution, about ending the war in Iraq responsibly and in a timely fashion and about re-establishing respect for our nation through wise and mature diplomatic efforts.

Dodd will make a great president.
