A young girl wrote her first poem when she was between the ages of 8-10 yrs old. It meant so very much to her that she put it on an ornament for her grandmothers.
It went like this:
Jesus was born
on a frosty morn
unto the hearts of me
with a promise to free us from sin
for upon that morn
Love and Joy were born.
I have always kept this with me. It is something that has inspired me to write further today. My faith has grown and I hope I have learned things since then and I have written this:
The star now shone bright
since very early in the night
that the Magi had followed along
to the lowly stable home
In the city of Bethlehem born
like a brightly shining morn
with a choir of Angels to sing
to our Savior and Heavenly King!
The shepherds followed soon
to witness God’s holy boon
though just a baby was he
our REDEMPTION He would be!
With prayer and our faith
put in just the right place
We’ll find forgiveness from sin
This is God’s promise to all men!
May God’s Peace and Mercy be with you all always!

Thanks for the inspirational intro to the Advent and Christmas season!
I hope you'll be in-spired to do more poems of this nature.
Merry Christmas...
But careful reading of the Scriptures do not have this spin
For Jesus' birth was not at a time of the Christmas cold
But was probably in September or October if I may be so bold
