New Computer

My husband and I finally broke down and bought a new computer.  It was a great deal.  A Dell.  I think it's going to be so much better than our old computer.  It is 13 or 14 years old.  Ancient in computer terms.  It was a lot of money for us (almost anything is), but I think I'm glad that we did it.  I can't wait until it comes!  It'll be a few days yet.  Now I've got to work hard on Gather and get to the cash option so that I can pay for the computer! :)

Wow that is old, we have one that old with windows 98 on it. How much storage does it have. I would give ours away but it just is too slow.

You need to learn to build your own like my hubby does and the parts are a lot cheaper than the finished product - he just ordered the parts for a new 64 bit machine and including a great video card, a terrabyte of hard drive space, an operating system - Vista or XP, and 4 gig of memory minus the monitor for less than $1,000. With this suggested machine, it would be a gamers paradise and it could be built less expensively if you decrease the amount of memory and the hard drive. He ordered all of the stuff he needed during the Black Friday sales and will get a quarter-a third of it back in rebates.

14 years, wow. Seems ours never last more than 2 years no matter the brand name. I hope that it still has a lot of life left in it for you.

We might be getting a Dell in Feb to replace the one that died in August, and was repaired and... died again.. sort of. The PC works, but the ethernet pert does not.. so it's not much good to us now.
