Do you know of any Legit Work from Home or Home businesses?

I wish I could find something myself. I still do the surveys and the work at home thing, not really paying off. I was watching my grandkids for pay, now I just watch the grandkids. Good luck.

Jill, I have been searching too, you have to be very careful. I do lots of surveys I actually made ten dollars once and received a check in the mail and can't even remember what it was for, but if you get some answers here, please let me know. As far as I am concerned,when you have to pay for training or any of the rest of it, it is not legit, it is another way of someone else making money, there are lots of them out there, My son has advised me to be very careful, they want your life history , credit card numbers, ss, etc, so be careful Jill, I wish you luck, I am in the same boat.

I don't know of any legit work at home jobs, please be careful. I work as a Certified Fraud Examiner and work at home cons are one of the biggest scams on the block.

Granted not cash, and not a constant, but every little bit helps. I use the giftcards to help out on groceries, clothing, presents, whatever because after paying all my bills I've been living on less than $40 a month before groceries, gas money, and personal care items. I also occupy absurdlycool.com, and volition.com for whatever free stuff I can get.

try writing articles for associated content. I've been doing this for about a year now and I've managed to stay alive. I don't make more than 2000 a month and that's trying really hard but its awesome. You should also try becoming an affiliate with a company like ebay. you can get a reliable income from them just getting people to sign up and place bids. you can also do that with many other companies. The only thing I can think of is something like an ad rep (tough line of work though) or accountant. Something like that.

I work at home as a medical transcriptionist, but that takes time and school to learn to do. The only kinds of things I can suggest are things already mentioned. I know places like alpineaccess.com and http://www.westathome.com/, www.liveops.com/application. and http://www.workingsolutions.com/home.htm are legitimate work at home jobs, if you like call center work and that sort of thing. Other than that, unless you have some sort of specific skill, like web design or writing where you could freelance, the only thing I know to do is what you're already doing with Gather and AC, etc. You might try finding some products to sell or affiliate programs, but usually those work best if you have a website or a blog you can advertise them on...and then there's always Pampered Chef, Avon, Passion Parties etc.. Hope you find something. I wonder why this was flagged too.. strange. :O)

If I come across anything new, I'll send you an e-mail. BTW, not all mystery shops require you to leave home. There are phone shops that I've done for a couple of companies.

My best guess on why it's flagged is that it is so similar to other articles you've posted. There's two that are almost identical in Money for Nothing already, and I remember a couple of other "twins" submitted since then (and no offense, but I declined them to keep the content fresh in MFN). Perhaps they see it as spam, or perhaps since the articles are so similar to one another, they're worried about fraud. (I don't think they want to pay for the same article repeatedly.)

There are a lot of blogging jobs out there. I don't have the links right now, but if you search for ProBlogging, you will find something.

They pay you to write X number of posts a week on a particular subject. If you did a few of these, you could do well.

When my children were small I did childcare from my home. I received licensing while my husband was in the military and did pretty well with it. I also did childcare after he left the service for about 1 1/2 years and was pretty successful with it. It takes lots of energy and preparation and nowadays is probably much harder (more red tape) to get the license or permits or whatever they call them where you live.

As for other sorts of work, I've heard of a few but nothing tangible. I thought about doing the survey sites and all that, but other than Gather and MyPoints, I haven't gotten anything from them. Most of them seem to require "participation" in some offer before they pay out. I don't even read them anymore.

I wish I could help, but I don't know of any.

Other than the ones I already sent you before (the one that Krissy got a job with) I don't know any other ways except for direct sales you know like marykay, avon, lia sophia, cookie lee etc. But, those are alot of work and sometimes require an up front amount that can be pricey for the products.

I have a full time job but I do the following from home and consider them my "side" jobs

I sell on Ebay. I sell all of the stuff that I have hoarded over the years. I am sooooo tired of clutter and promised my husband that I will stop my bad habit of hoarding and packratting and sell it all on Ebay. I make several hundreds per month.

I sew and sell my wares. I have several items that I sew and sell.

I sell baked cookies and candy around the holiday time. In October, I send flyers out to all of my friends and acquaintences, put flyers all over the place and in a few larger neighborhoods advertising my items for sale and prices and I make a few hundred dollars at Christmas, Easter and every now and then along the year.

I also have two people that I plant flowers for in their yards. They are doctors and want to have pretty flowers during the spring and summer but no time to plant. I figure out how many flats of flowers they need and some dirt and mulch and then charge a bit more for my work.
these are smaller yards so....like 5 flats of flowers at 12.00 each and two bags of mulch at 4.00 each and two bags of topsoil at 3.00 each which comes to $74.00 so I will charge $125.00 and then I make $51.00 profit and it takes me about 1-2 hours to plant their flowers.
I do two places like this. I leave them watering instructions and they do the watering and it always looks nice.

It really depends on what your passion or hobbies are. This is just my opinion but the best money makers have been those I've come up with myself. I'll bet you have some great skills, just waiting to earn you money.

I sell online and I also write online and I tutor as well. You can do all of these online, even the tutoring, although you have to take a test at most tutoring sites online in order to be considered. I prefer to tutor in person but it is mostly done in my home.

If you don't consider yourself experienced enough in a subject area to be a tutor, think about your skills.

When my children were very young but still in school, I worked from home for a man who didn't want to rent office space so he simply "outsourced" his calls to me, giving the impression that he had a secretary and office. He had a secretary- me - but his "office" was also me, lol. It wasn't hard work, simply kept track of his appointments and called clients to remind the of appointments. He had a small contracting business and is now quite successful. I saved him a ton of overhead when he was building up his business and it was a win/win situation.

To do this, you have to approach a small business and sell yourself. It makes sense economically for some businesses. In my case, the business owner paid for the phone line, dedicated, in our home so there was no conflict between the home line and office line. I took a lunch break like any other employer, letting the answering machine get messages for that hour.

I wasn't on the phone nonstop but I did work regular hours, from about 8-3 (stopped just before my kids got home). I also had to get most of the groceries on weekends but I could do a lot of chores (laundry, cleaning) while doing the job.

Most income in our society comes from selling products, skill, or time. If you have the time to develop skills, there are jobs you can do part-time from home. Medical transcription is mentioned above. You could also transcribe closed-caption scripts. There is a service where folks who use a TTY device call in and get someone to "translate" for them. I had done Avon for a while, but there are too many reps and not enough customers to make that a worthwhile full-time endeavor. The profit margins were so narrow that I found it pointless to continue.

Personally, I'm still looking for that "perfect" work from home opportunity. In the meantime, I'm looking for a "real" job-- one that actually lasts for a while.

Quick note, rewards sites are not really for the "stay at home" job unless you own the reward site. It is good for free nights out and the like. Working from home is possible, all of these mentioned are great ideas.
Anyone can work from home, but to be successful, you also have to be disciplined. You need to treat it like a job and schedule your time because if you don't, you won't make anything.
While lounging in your jammies is great to work from home, you get more done when you're dressed and ready to go, it's all a mind set. I get more motivated when I am "presentable" and feel more structured and get more accomplished.

Here is a list of legitimate companies, that need at home customer service reps, basically taking phone orders for companies like the Home Shopping Network, doing tech support, etc. These are REAL companies, and don't charge you for info or anything, like so many scam sites.
