A friend came over for pizza tonight.

We ate upstairs but I had the room
(baby) monitor going from Mom's bedside.

At one point as Mom gasped, snored and
generally breathed heavy I looked at my friend and said…

GEEZ!  It's like dinner with Darth Vader!

That's hilarious -- the Farce really is with her! Sounds very much like our own family stead -- with Dad slurping the soup, and Mom chastising him about it. It's funny -- I was always going to hide one intercom in Mom's bedroom, to transmit to Dad's upstairs. But some things are just too traumatic to actually do! Thanks for sharing this!

Glad you can find a little humor in light of your circumstances. It's what keeps many of us going! We made lots of lighthearted jokes when my mother-in-law was with us, and it somehow helped ease the burden and provide a few much-needed moments of clarity and sanity. Glad you enjoyed your pizza and your friend. Keep hanging in there!
