Guitar Hero Fans?

I played Guitar Hero 3 for the first time yesterday, and got a bit addcted! I loved it. I had played GH2 before, but only once, and I was drinking.

Anyway, Nick video'd me doing the final battle on easy, "Devil went down to Georgia" against "Lou". Here's a link:

The game is fun and addicting! While it IS fun as a family game, I'm not sure I would neccessarily have tried to gear it as a family game. The songs are mostly older rock songs, but my main questioning point is the fact that you play the final battle against "Lou"- which is short for Lucifer, and he plays a guitar made out of a human rib cage and a spine.

Yet, in the song "Devil", they bleep out the one bad word. It just seems a bit odd to me. Still it IS a fun game, and I highly enjoyed it. If you like video games that are fun and love rock music from the 70's on up through the here and now, you'd probably enjoy this game.

I have seen it played, but never tried myself. It reminds me a lot of DDR, and I like that. It's more active, though. Totally my thing. I don't have a lot of time for video games, but if I think I'm getting a work out from it (DDR), then it makes me feel a little better.

I've never played it myself, but I have a friend who recently bought it, and he is already addicted. He has jokingly decided to quit his job to become a rock star thanks to this game, lol.

I really enjoy it. See, our friend Randy brought out GH2 to a few parties, as Heather mentioned before. And when the games kept coming out, I stubbornly stuck to the notion that they were just 'gimimcky' - But there is a lot of fun to be had with these two games. Now that we have GH3 & the nice wireless guitar, we'll probably pick up GH2 at some point. I'm sorta curious about Rock Band now too...

Haha every time I am at the store I have to play it ;o)...it is too expensive for my blood... ;o) But my boy (who is 3) has to play it too, so it isn't as fun for me in the store anymore LOL! I like the older songs they have chosen... ;o) My husband said that one of his co workers said he hates that game cause it makes people think they can play the guitar...haha I was like whatever dude! It's fun!

Birdee, last year, my oldest daughter was wanting to start a band with her friends. She said she'd be the singer (love her dearly, but the child can NOT carry a tune), one friend was going to play the drums, and another was going to play the guitar.

About a week later, she announced they were looking for a guitar player, so I asked why. Turned out, Tanner only knew how to play Guitar Hero, not the actual thing. ;)

Nick has a co-worker who can actually play the guitar, but he struggles from time to time with the game. ;)

My boys love to play this game. It is funny to hear them walking around the house singing some old rock song and realize that they heard it from that game! If I tried to play classic rock in my car they would fuss at me about being old! lol

I used to be like addicted too, ( i still play on expert) but i realized that guitar hero is not as good as real guitar. Also, i dont get real excited if i can play a blues solo profenssioonally like on guitar hero. fun game, but i enjoy real guitar better.

This game has been good for me. I don't play it but my band plays a lot of tunes that are featured in the games. My daughter's BF's are always saying "That song is from guitar hero!" I like the way the game is getting people back in touch with passionate and fun music. Some players have made the leap to an actual guitar, though they quickly found the graphics suck. ;)

I've had fans tell me I ought to try it. Dude, I have a roomfull of real guitars to play!
