I'm Sorry - But Gather Is Messing Up Again!

I'm in the same boat with you. I'm not getting my emails either. I completely understand and I won't get upset.

i haven't been getting mine for weeks now...

I had this issue for quite some time myself but then I read in someone else's article that the issue was with yahoo. Do you have yahoo? I created a new free email account with MSN hotmail just for my gather messages and once I changed my email address, I have been getting all of my notifications again. It's kind of a pain type solution but it did work for me.

we all just do our best with what's given us.

no they havent answered my question yet dina,its just gather at its best in my eyes.
they cant fix anything and keep creating new problems

Sorry you are been so frustrated by the system. Mine seems to be working okay, but a little slow.

I did not get many of mine for a week, yesterday 314 POPPED up.....AIEEEE!!!! christopher,i did a story and pic on the "gather clowns" last week,lol....and right after the LAST maintainance (which caused all KIND of havoc!) I got a REAL pic of a very UGLY gather "GLITCH"!!!!Glitches are REAL! They have SHARP TEETH! go check out my ATTACK story, my friend...."Twas a HARROWING experience!!!!

I get sporadic notices of comments or email sent. I make a point of checking my gather pages several times a day otherwise I'd miss many posts, comments and email.

I too have yahoo. Maybe I'll switch to another.

If the problem is with yahoo (i have had afew glitches this week only, with it) then why are so many others who are NOT on yahoo having probs? Who do you currently use,christopher? Or anyone else?I have a third page, and,lol, have not been able to get ON it for 10 days!

Hi, Christopher-hope you had a great Turkey day! Yeah, I got a slew of emails, too-1 multiplied 31 x!! Now, I'm not getting any. I have Yahoo and never had a problem, also have G on my contact list, so I don't think it's Yahoo.

And, Penni, I caught your glitch-YIKES!!

It seems that after each update there are a bunch of bugs and glitches. The last one left me unable to get paid, but they fixed that really fast:)

no i dont have yahoo,i have yahoo mesenger only but dont go onto it for i do not like it

but if i am on gather,why do i haveta open yahoo alspo to enjoy the full benefits of gather,maes no sense to me..gather needs to fix the problems,nuff said

Christopher Thank you for coming over to our daily AidStation to let us know about your problems. I added some suggestions for you over there, but I'm really sorry they didn't help.

I am going to go ahead and paste those suggestions here, just in case another member comes here and can get some help by trying them:

These were my suggestions on the AidStation: There is a problem with yahoo accounts, so if you happen to have yahoo mail, then this might be the answer to your problem. Yahoo is the only email account that doesn't recognize Gather mail and it puts them into a queue and tends not to deliver them. Gather has known about this problem for quite some time and has been working on it and we hope the problem is solved soon.

Now if you don't have a yahoo account, then the only thing you can do if you've already verified your email preferences on gather is to actually add gather.com to your 'safe' or 'accepted email addresses' list on your email account and if this still doesn't work, you'll need to contact support by way of outside mail (not Gather mail) at support@gather.com. You then commented again over there and told me that my suggestions didn't help and I feel really bad about that! You also expressed your concern about Gather and the glitches they have and I just wanted to tell you that I DO understand your concerns! I'm just sorry that my answers didn't help you because all of us (The Gather Guides) are here to try to help as many members as we can. It's always disappointing when we can't help someone.

I happen to love Gather and tell everyone about the website because I think it's great that we can all be here for our own reasons and get paid doing it! I know that a lot of other websites have intermittent problems as well, so I try to give Gather the benefit of the doubt. Once again though - I'm really sorry that you're disappointed in this website and I wish that I could help you enjoy it more. :o)

Christopher Once again... no one suggested to you to open up a Yahoo account. The member who asked that was trying to tell you that Yahoo itself is having a problem accepting and delivering Gather mail and was wondering if you had Yahoo because that might be your problem. Sorry if you misunderstood that.

I've tried to help you before and it seems like you're never happy with Gather, so of course it confuses me that you're still here with Gather if you don't like it. I'm not trying to be rude, don't take this that way... but this is a voluntary site and of course it bothers The Gather Guides when we can't help someone. It's also bothersome to always see complaint articles about the site when it's voluntary to be here. You know?

but its cool,i now know that gather cant fix their bugs,just gives me another excuse to tell my friends to be wary of this site--they will pass it on to their friends and so on,word of mouth continues
you do realize gather wouldnt be so bad if they wouldnt create more problems then they fix

unlike most of the people on gather,i speak out,i dont care what the gather gods or anyone else says,i have a right to my opinion and am open about it

somehow I have been lucky, but as for the emails, I never check that anyway, when I get online this is where I head, so I check the emails here. I wish you luck.
