I just finished reading the information on the Liberty Dollar web site. If the government goes through with case they are setting a very bad precedent. The way that I see it, an upheld conviction, will make it illegal for even the government to issue treasury bonds, local government to sell mass transit passes, much less stamps sold in advance. These are mediums of exchange, which at its root is what money is all about. But on the other hand, it is going to make barter ever so much more appealing. Which already is driving the IRS out of its skull.
