More work. More food. More parties. Less time. It's cold outside. Company. Travel. There are plenty of reasons to ditch your workouts, but don't let the Holidays sabotage your fitness goals.
*Stay on track but be realistic.
You may not be able to work out as much as you normally do, but that's o.k. for a short period of time. Make a plan and stick to it. Plan your workouts around your schedule, but once it's in the book, treat it like any other appointment. Don't cancel unless it is absolutely necessary.
* Think outside the box.
O.k. so you had to miss a workout and now you feel guilty. Change the way you think about it. Find a way to get active for at least 30 minutes. Workouts don't always have to be in the gym.
* Have Fun.
Exercising relieves stress and boosts your immune system so now is not the time to skimp on exercise. Take the emphasis off how many reps you can do and look for a creative challenge. Try a new class or go rock climbing indoors or head outside and snowshoe! Whatever it is, have fun and laugh often!
What is your plan to stay on track for the Holidays?
