Prayers, please

My middle son, Joe (15) woke me up at 3:30 am with severe abdominal pain... so I took him to the ER. His dad got off work so I was able to run home and post this but I have to get back to the hospital. He has appendicitis and they'll be removing his appendix sometime today. I'll post more upon my return home.

Thank goodness for modern medicine. Be sure to give him plenty of vitamins and yogurt after he comes home. Got to replace those intestinal bacteria the antibiotics killed.

I figured something was up since your normal Gather activities were not being done. I had been hoping for good news, though.

I had that when i was around 8 years of age.
I could not laugh or talk or even walk it hurt to much.
I hope and wish he will be ok.

The good thing is this can never ever happen again!!

Oh Lydia, I am so sorry for your son. That can be extremely painful. At least you got him to the hospital in time. Will say a special prayer for him and you.
I still have my appendix and I worry about something happening. I'm 68 years old and that would be pretty rough.

I had my appendix out at 15 too, my son at 14.

I will never forget when they gave him the pre-op, the surgeon came in and kindly asked my son how he was feeling.

My son (who is a bit auty, an engineering type) replied "Cant wait to get under that knife."

What a toughy he was when medicated! But it just shows how painful it is if someone is wanting to get cut open!

Im sure your son will be feeling better in a couple of days. The recovery seems to be alot quicker these days too....

Like someone mentioned, watch the diet afterwards. Irritable bowel is common after abdominal surgery.

I am so glad they found the problem quickly!!! I just read this as Dale send me an email with the connection. I remember the same surgery. It takes a good couple of weeks to feel you can stand up straight unless he was lucky enough to have it lazered out (not an option in my day). Lydia because of who you are, God will speed the recovery too. God bless and pamper your son, you know how our boys love that.

I am sorry that I haven't been able to read my email. I have been very busy with my daughter and her children. They left yesterday. I hope to get back on schedule.

Thanks everyone. Joe is recovering well in most respects but his appetite has not returned. He only weighs about 112 and he's about 5'9" maybe even 5'11" tall so the doc is concerned and wants to see him back again next week. She did have his blood checked and that showed nothing. So now I'm pushing food on the poor boy all day long.
