It seems these days that everyone has a pet. When I was young it wasn't that way. But I think the trend toward animals is wonderful. When I married my now xhusband he came with a dog and I thought that was great!! We had taken that dog with us so much while dating that I considered her mine as well. She was a beautiful Irish Setter. Throughout our marriage we always had at least one pet. His preference was always the big dog and I like them also. We had several pets adopt us and they were oh so special!!
I was and still am the cat lover. I have my cat george now but previously had owned or been owned by a cat named Jimmy. Jimmy had adopted us and over time became my cat. He was such a comfort to me. When I would come home from work at night I would watch the late shows while Jimmy would stretch himself out along my torso. He was a big cat and I would often have to roll him off because he would become so heavy. We had Jimmy for a few years but when my former husband's military service took us overseas we concluded we should find him a new home in this country. We wrapped him up in a blanket and gave him to a lovely women who I knew would just love him! Once we got settled in our new home in a foreign country I began to miss Jimmy. Especially at night (I used to be a night person) when I was relaxing after the day was done. I suppose that was my first experience with a real connection with a pet. He gave me alot.
Now I have George whose name used to be Jingles...:) He is a precious cat, a member of the family. I think some of us just need an animal to make our lives a little better.
I'd like to hear about your pets. What kinds of animals do you like? Please write anything you would like to in regards to animals. Have you had a special pet? Thank you.

Rockie is rotten into everything much like our Baby James which is probable why him and Rockie are such buddies lol
Cookie is my cat loving loves to sit on my lap what is ironic is Rockie was suppose to be mine and Cookie was to be James' well it switched
Then there is Oscar hes just kind of a himself cat except once in awhile playing with Rockie, Cookie or Emily.
Emily we got from someone else and the most laid back dog I know but yet plays occationally too. I just love this dog a real lap dog. Also Cookies little buddy
our newest member is Charity I could of killed hubby when he brought home another animal I mean I love animals but so many in a small home. lol But Charity has became our foundations mascott now and was actually named on myspace in a blog for name ideas for her.
We eat them cooked food and raw meat and they never miss a meal time.
Few months ago I tried to pet one, but some cruel kids in my neighborhood hit her with a plank and she was dead in minutes. So sad.
Thanks for brining this.

Scipio Africanus (top cat, age 15)
Gaius Marius ( former stray, age approximately 10)
Tiberius ( former stray, age 5)
He was the best.
Why did you change your pet's name?
My pet Shi Tsu's name is Jingles. Her nickname is Jinx. We have had her for 14 years.
I wrote this poem about her. I hope you enjoy it.
My guardian angel is small...
My guardian angel is small only ten inches tall
With silky long hair and patches everywhere
Her two inch legs bend at the knee
Her ten pound body full of esprit
Her head is not large but her heart is huge
To get my attention she uses subterfuge
Of Tibetan decent and irreverent
She doesn't come when beckoned
Though my heart she melts in a second
Smaller than most cats
Giant dogs she attacks
She perches on my lap and assumes her position
Lord of the world and queen of the kitchen
I lift her to my face and tell her I love her
She kisses me back and my face does smother
Her little body so noble and proud
The fiercest warrior the softest cloud
She stays by my side and on my pillow sleeps
This tiniest angel my well being keeps

Anytime you want a PDF file on the books process, just send me an e-mail asking for a copy of the PFD of Crossing the Rainbow Bridge Book II in the subject line.
We were able to complete the first book in five weeks. Hopefully, we can get enough stories to make this book published in that same time period.

Some years later, I found Winchester at a bulldog rescue. He reminded me of Winifred, so I brought him home. He was a different personality altogether. I called him my "little man." Of course my spoiling him didn't help his obsessive/compulsive/neurotic and aggressive personality. He was a handful. The vet said he had been abused by a former owner. After having him for four years, he developed a tumor on his heart and had to be put to sleep. I was heartbroken again.
A month ago, my first book: "50 Frogs, 5 Babes and a Bulldog" was published and Winchester played a key character. It was fun and nostalgic to bring him back to life again in this story. Of course, it's mostly fiction but Winchester's personality is as he was. Warts and all, he will always be "my little man."
