Each of us has specific talents that have been gifted to us for the journey thru this life. I believe it is coded into our DNA, and it’s up to each of us to find it and utilize it for the good of community, whether it’s art, writing, singing, acting, cooking, gardening, building, bird watching, etc. You are a star in you’re own right no matter how you may perceive yourself. When you utilize your talents to adorn your community, you are fulfilling your part in the universal team.
Entertainers aren’t the only celebrities, and you don’t have to be famous worldwide in order to fulfill your star-studded role in society. All you have to do is discover what your talents are and make use of them. Listen, it isn’t that hard. In fact, it’s all about finding what you love to do and sharing it with others..... not because you have to, but because you love to.
I was very surprised when Jan asked me if my art was for sale. In fact, the first comment I read with that question startled me so much that I put off answering. Then she asked a second time, a little more demanding of an answer, and I thought to myself: Wow, I did what I set out to do. No..... not sell my work....I inspired someone. I love art and always have. I do it as a hobby, and for conversational pieces. It’s an added bonus when artwork lights up the faces of the community, but at the same time that’s the point of it.... get people talking to one another.
The spirit of my work doesn’t lie in the origin from whence the idea came. Although these inspirations came from the Mayan glyphs as portrayed by the Dreamspell Calendar, I don’t necessarily ascribe to the idea that their way is the only way. And, although I have an understanding that our Gregorian calendar is a little off center with the cosmos, I am not approaching anyone to subscribe to the Dreamspell philosophy.
For me, every person on Earth contributes to the whole, and I don’t care to argue which calendar is perfect. What I really care about is the bonding that takes place during the discussions of such. Sharing our beliefs, talents, ideas, blends different energies, thoughts, people, and processes. Living in a world of duality, it is imperative that we integrate all parts into one unified whole that creates connectedness, rather than division. Divide and conquer hasn’t worked folks.
It’s time to follow your heart, your star-studded self, the purpose within you that holds the possibility of your greatest artistic contribution to community. In this way, the “whole” expands and evolves. It’s all about team building. The energy that spills forth through team spirit is amazing, almost contagious. You can see this on baseball, football, and soccer teams. You can feel the energy in the air when the community gathers for an event such as the lightshows during the holiday season. Team Spirit brings life to an otherwise drab office building.
Life doesn’t haven’t to be drab, boring, or even hard work. If even just half of the people working loved what they are doing, the workplace could actually shine. This is why we need to rethink our perspectives, and ripen or mature our intentions and desires. It ain’t about the money, honey. We can’t take that with us, and it won’t be waiting for us on the other side, but community will be. We are a family.
Warning: In order to achieve an artist goal you have to be willing to let go and allow the artistic juices to flow because they don‘t flow well under stress.
By letting go and allowing your intentions to shine like a star, you activate appreciation, and the attractiveness of what you are accomplishing spreads outward to those who receive it. Express yourself gracefully in any way you choose, and be dedicated to offering your talents with love. You really do adorn the community when you practice artistic cooperation.
