Hello my Gather Friends!!  Just drop by and let me know how your day is going!!

I had a very eventful night!  First of all I just barely nodded off at about 3 a.m.  I'm not sure if I really slept any or not...anyway I was back up out of bed at 5. 

Then to top  it all off..I could not get my computer to turn on, then I couldn't get on the internet.  I was so scared I had that (mega)virus going around that I just wanted to cry!  I do not have the money right now for a new computer...and what would I do without Gather!!  Talk about stressing!!

It's been acting up the last few days anyway, not wanting to turn on, so now I am gonna have to just leave it on all the time.  I'm scared I won't be able to get it back on!  And BTW, I'm afraid I may have a lemon.  My son gave it to me and it's probably only a little over a year old.  It's an HP Laptop.  The wireless is gone and the sound!!!  Okay, enough ranting for this morning!!  I just need a few cups of coffee to calm down.  lol

It's still dark so I can't tell you if it's gonna be a beautiful day or not.  We are expecting snow here any day soon.  It's only 31 degrees out right now so......could be highly possible.

Good morning....it's a chilly 32 out right now....started cleaning already...had my bowl of cheerios with soy milk...and now I am banned from the computer until Iget at least one room clean....OIY!! But it's the only way, otherwise I would sit here reading and commenting until the sun rose and set...hee hee, I'm a junkie....eeeekkkk! Wish me luck! Good morning! I have had two cups with one more to go. My son is watching cars in the living room with me and I have been on Gather for about 2 hours more or less tyring to catch up and my husband is still sleeping. We will probably be around the house this weekend. I am finishing up a snowman creamer that I started the other day and have to work on a blanket. We have a cold front that moved in so it is 58 right now and I am loving it wishing it was colder!

Karolyn, I had to laugh when you said you were having a cold front. It is so cold here right now, we have had some snow already, of which my 6 year old was so excited when he seen it. "He said "this is my favorite season". not mine I might add, Fall is great but Winter is just to darn cold for me.

When your gather clock says 9;15 it is actually 8;15 here, but it is probably about 5;15 where Wilma lives. That is why she is always late and we go to bed way before her.

Ya know Norma! I never realized that! Thanks for tipping me off! It is hard to keep track of these time zone differences! I talk to someone in India and they are several hours different than here. So when I'm going to bed, they're getting up or something to that effect!!

Good day Deb. I hope your computer heals soon. According to the TV coverage of the Michigan / Ohio State game it is starting to rain there and it's 38 degrees. Brrrrr.

Here in N.C. it's beautiful and abour 50 degrees. We could sure use your rain.

I've had a great morning. My boy basketball team practiced at 9:00 and did great.
They are improving by leaps and bounds every practice. They are doing better that way than any team I have had the last 25 years. I am so happy with them.

Guess the overcase skies today is making it warmer. Thats why I tell everyone that in TExas it is almost summer,summer, summer is almost over, then its cold as you know what.

I have to go do all that stuff, I left undone yesterday. Rats. Plus the animals are all screaming outside. I have already fed the little kittens that come to the front porch. Their mom brought them to me because she wants to wean them. One of them finally let me touch it. They are still frightened. Tracy and I just want to tame us one. All the tame ones are gone. But I just sit there when it is warm and now they are getting closer and closer to me without being afraid.

Hi, Deb. I see you and Norma were talking about me. I got woke up by my cat at 5:30 AM PST (7:30 AM for you Central Time folks) but stayed in bed another 2 hrs dozing off and on.

It's pouring rain here right now and I'm trying to think of something halfway fun to do. It's my only 'free' weekend in a month and I'd like to do SOMETHING! My computer is working this morning! Hooray, but who knows how long THAT will last!

I had one bit of good news this morning. I don't know if you recall my 5 older grandkids that I met up with this summer. Hadn't seen them in 2 years and they just expected me to fork out megabucks for their entertainment that day.

One of them is celebrating her birthday and after a lot of thought, I sent her a little money and a card. They have never ONCE thanked me for anything I've sent them over the last 10+ years. I got an e-mail this morning thanking me and I was so excited!

Of course, the cynical side of me thinks: "Hmmm, they know Christmas is coming and if they want something then, they decided to have her send me a thank you note today!"

I had sent them an e-mail last summer about how I was disappointed in their behavior, telling me to go to the ATM and get MORE money for them to spend when they had run through the $100 I had brought!

yummmm... the weather is not too bad... it was very cold last nite and we do not have heat, so we snuggle up in 6 blankets and that works... until it's time to get up to go potty...hehe... anyway, i'll try to see you later... have a great day...

I think if anyone of us were offline for more than a day. all our friends would come looking for us. {pity party coming up} I dont know, one time I went missing for three days and no one came looking for me. When my DSL and phone both went down.
But If one of my friends go MIA I go asking all over the web, if anyone has seen them.

Every thing is so yellow outside I took my caera for a walk. I also tried video and when I looked the the end result it made me dizzy so tomorrow I will try again. I guess you can't walk and shoot at the same time...There were flurries today - winter is on its way.

Hey Miz Deb J. here I come flip flopping in and I hope you're still up cause it's already almost six on the Left coast. It seems that around 8 I'm already ready to crawl into the sack! Right now, the hub is making dinner and I'm drinking some wine. I sure hope your laptop isn't sick. I spilled wine on mine and had to order another one - it should be in next week. I hated to do that as it was only three years old and my friend. However, it couldn't be fixed. I did get all my work off the hard drive - thankfully....Ok have a nice evening Yall. Salud.

Hey Deb, I was trying to get to talk to all my friends today, but have been on the telephone talking to all my friends and relatives today. My kid next door woke us up at 8 wanting Donald to come show him how to start his leaf blower. I asked him if he knew it was Saturday. To go home and we would call him after breakfast. Then My other neighbor called offering some oak firewood. Which I said okay. But he needs my chain saw. Then my little neighbor boy and his mom came over, we talked for an hour or so. Then Tracy called, then my son from Florida, then my Uncle. All were longer winded than I am. Now I am so tired of talking. Maybe I can type for a while. LOL

Hi Deb, so many familiar faces, sometimes I forgot whose page I am on, good to see you, and be able to write something in real time to you. my pointer finger , the one I type with, decided to get hurtful today, weather kicking up the arthritis, so if you see mistakes, forgive me, hope it didn't get too cold for anyone, I needed to go shopping today, but I didn't go, sales for turkeys start tomorrow, I hope someone pushes me out the door before the last one takes off in his jet, lol. I woke up feeling kinda crummy too Deb. Dont know what to blame mine on. It could just be bordom. Tracy wont be out today and I look foreward to that every Sunday. She will be here Thanksgiving of course. I think its the pressure of having to busy myself with this and that and would really much rather just get a take out meal and not have to cook, chop, cut, bake for three days just for one meal. Call me a scrooge. But it just is overwhelming me.

Back in the old days, as my kids say. The holidays were wonderful. We all made our plans discussed with each other, who would be at who,s house and how many would be joining each other for the Holiday. Who would host and what each would bring;. Now its always, just me Don and Tracy. I do all the cooking. Well Don helps here and Tracy brings casseroles. But for even the three of us. I have only one oven. Have to stay up half the night getting turkey ready, so we can use oven for dressing etc; this is a tiny kitchen. More than on behind, dont fit well at all trying to get things ready. By the time I sit down to eat. There is to much food, thats such a waste. should have just went to Whataburger. It will take me three days to clean up the mess.

Deb, You need to turn of some programs that are sharing memory space. I don't know if you know how to do this. This easiest way is just go down to the tool bar sitting at the bottom of your screen, put the cursor over programs you won'y use, right click and then click exit. A screen might come up asking if you're sure. Just click yes. The biggest problem is lack of memory in most PC. You can download a couple of utilities for free. The best, in my opinion is ToniArts. Glary utilities is also very good. Did I mention they are free?! You can use these to get all the garbage out of your PC. I also suggest you defrag your PC at least once a week.

Norma can clean up the cooking mess, but the caption mistake she made in 1975 is still a mess. Warning! Norma's captions can be dangerous as are her fists. She is the Shiner queen of Texas. She's so tough the gov't dumped 25,000 rattlesnakes on her property.

I forgot one thing the could possibly help your health. It's cod liver oil. Take two tbls per day and keep it refrigerated. If you are taking COPD meds, I would suggest you talk to your doctor before using cod liver oil.

Have had a stressful afternoon of signing up for my insurance benefits online. I'm never sure if my computer will behave itself and if the printer will print out what I want in a recognizable pattern. Both things worked!!! I'm so excited. Now I wish I had some way to celebrate. It has been such a dark day here all day long.

The 3 grandkids and I went to church this morning, then I went to lunch at their house. They have tons of Christmas decorations out. They also cleaned and rearranged the whole upstairs in preparation for Thanksgiving dinner there this week. I am so glad that I have Thanksgiving OFF this year!!

I am not having problems with the publishing Deb. Its has been posting comments to my friends. Sometimes when I write them a note, push post it will hang up for an hour. Then the comment doesnt post. I have to go back later and try again. By then I have forgotten what I had said. Now that was really a pain.

Have you noticed that they will be shutting down at 11 again for maintance? That is usually when we start having problems, when they are working on something.
I went through my old articles yesterday and deleted a few. That helped some. I will continue to delete some of the articles little by little.

I just wish the shutdown was a little bit later. 8-10 PM is my prime Gathering time. And of course, they NEVER do their maintenance on the evenings I'm at work.

Maybe they are having this shutdown because other people are having problems similar to yours!
