Earlier I mentioned that my husband purchased several engraved copies of his cruise book from the last military deployment as a keepsake, because I was pregnant during his cruise and there was a page dedicated to all "deployment babies", including Kyleigh. My husband left the ship and transferred to the current command 6 months after the deployment. We have not received the book after a year.
I have been in contact with the person on the ship that was in charge of distributing the books. He kept putting me off, and I finally threatened my husband that I would email the XO or even the Captain if he doesn't sort this out with that guy soon.
We finally got words (through another ex-shipmate) that the guy will send the cruise books to us. However, none of the cruise books is engraved. Not just our books, but everyone's book was missing the engraving. The company is refunding $5 for each book, but that is not fair. My husband paid extra money to get additional engraving, but he's not getting the extra money back. Besides, what we really wanted is the engraving and not the extra money back.
I am really upset at the way things turn out. I just hope we will finally see our "imaginary" cruise books show up at the door.
