This story is based on actual facts. These events happened earlier this evening.
After I got off from work this evening, I made the usual beer run into Tennessee. Then when I was heading back into Kentucky, I found myself behind one of those nimrods who doesn't understand that the speed limit is 55 mph. After about 5 miles behind this guy going 35 mph and another Eienstein behind me bearing down on my rear end wanting to go 75 mph, I'd had enough. At last the passing lane that I had been looking for so long revealed itself. Just before I passed this nimrod, I turned on my left turning signal. Then I jerked my car into second gear and put the pedal to the metal.
I passed Mr. Nimrod with ease, however I noticed that Mr. Eienstein had joined me in passing Mr. Nimrod. Once I noticed that I was well ahead of Mr. Nimrod and it was safe to return to the righthand lane, I noticed that Mr. Eienstein had beat me to the lane and cut me off. My only choice at this point was to slow down and let Mr. Eienstein get ahead of me and hope that Mr. Nimrod hadn't speeded up. That all worked out as planned and I turned back into the righthand lane.
Now that I had Mr. Nimrod behind me, I caught up with Mr. Eienstein in hope of getting his plate number so I could report him to the Police. However just as I got close enough to jot down his plate number, Mr. Eienstein put his left hand out the window with what appeared to be a gun in his hand. At that point, I backed off to about 10 car lengths behind him and pulled my Walther P19 mm pistol from its holster.
As we entered Murray, Mr. Eienstein started switching lanes hoping that I would pull up beside him at a stop light and I switched lanes right along with him. At the first stoplight, I maintained my 10 car lenght distance. This lane switching continued trough several stoplights with me maintaining the 10 car lenght distance.
Just as I was about to make the turn onto my street, Mr. Eienstein also made a right turn. As I pulled into my street, I noticed that Mr. Eienstein had stopped and got out of his car and he was heading towards me. I still had my Walther in my left hand, however the thought of shooting this guy never crossed my mind. My gut feeling told me to jerk my car into reverse and get the heck out of there..and quick! So I jerked into reverse and just as I did, Mr. Eienstein started to charge even faster towards me.
As I backed into the street behind me, my only hope was that there would be no oncoming traffick and to my advantage, there was none. So I backed out an jerked into first gear and headed towards the Police station.
On my way to the Police station, I was expecting Mr. Eienstein to cut me off at any point, however that didn't happen. I had successfully dodged a potentially deadly situation.
Once I had arrived safely at the Police station, I went in and filed a report as well as asking for a Police escort back to my house in which the Police were happy to provide.
As you can tell, I made it home safely. However looking back, what if there was oncoming traffick on the street that I backed into while Mr. Eienstein was charging my car? Backed into a corner with my Walther P1 firmly grasped in my left hand, would I have taken a shot at Mr. Eienstein?
I really can't answer that because thankfully I was able to avoid that situation.
So what woud you have done in a similar situation?

What really freaked me about this is that situations such as this don't usually happen around these parts.
Yeah we cut eachother off in traffick, cuss eachother out and flip eachother off and we are having breakfast together the next day joking about it.
This was different though, this guy stopped his car in the middle of the road and charged me. That just does't happen around here, but I guess that anything can happen anywhere at any given time.
That was a rough situation, Tim. I'm personally glad you didn't shoot. Self-defense doesn't mean much these days. Too bad you didn't get the license plate.

Oh by the way Hillbilly, thar ain't no "K" in traffik dummy....LMAO>>>>>
I'm still kinda cornfused as to why this guy cut me off at my street and charged my car..
The description of the guy that I gave the Police, which is exactly what I saw was....
Black male about 5'9", 200 lbs wearing black sweats.
I also told the Police that I didn't think this guy was from around here because people this area, black or white, don't usually cut people off at their streets and charge their cars.
The fact that this guy cut me off at my street has me concerned. Got the AR-15 and a couple of 30 round magazines handy just in case..
Sure have...sorry..he was about 5'9" 200 lbs and he appeared to have dark skin. I don't actually believe that this guy was from around these parts because people from around these parts don't usually cut people off at their streets and charge their cars.
Is that PC enough Todd?
To get back to the question. I dont know how I would of reacted to this situation, my heart would of been racing 90 miles and hour though, but my legs would of been shaking to bad, to press the gas pedal to the floor.
I am so happy you are safe
back on to the street and the other person had a weapon, I shoot first and get the authorities later. The world is not a safe place any longer.
Cheryl....I couldn't tell if he had a weapon when he was charging me, but if I couldn't have backed back out onto the street, I probably wouldn't have any other choice except to shoot. Then if he didn't have a weapon, I would have been in a mess...no win situation all around. I just got lucky...that's all that I can say.
Vicky...good point. The Police are doing extra patrols in my area, but like I told Todd, I don't think this guy was local..probably just passing through.
Deb and Apryl....thanks so much.
You did the right thing to try and avoid the situation. The "why" bothers me. It was likely because you followed him to get his licinse number after he passed you on the wrong side. You had to have speeded to do that and he probably thought you were more than just a little bit in a hurry. He may have thought you were after him, which you were though only to get his license number but he had no way of knowing that at the time.
As to blowing the man away? Without even thinking about it if there were no other way around it.
He was in the lead.
I don't actually believe that he knows where I live...more than likely coincidence...but I still asked for extra Police patrols just in case.
Also, I couldn't tell if he had a weapon when he was charging me.
Thanks Colonel.
Lynn..I got and about today and everytime I saw a gold Dodge Intrepid, I ducked for cover! However the Police are stepping up their patrols on my street.
Raven ( Liz ) ..Thanks!
Dina....The one mistake that Idid make was not using my cellphone to call the police Not playing the what if game, however if this happens again, I have learned a lesson.
Leslie...sometimes that's all it takes. You never know who you are dealing with.
You said the mistake you made was not using your cell, Did you really have time? Given a choice between a cell and a gun, I'll take the gun.
Nola... I sure did. I was behind him for at least a couple of miles. I had plenty of time to call the Police so they could head him off once we got into town.
