Sweet Potato/Yam Recipes??

I leave off the marshmallows and leave out the brown sugar when cooking it...then when I pull it out of the oven, I put crumb mix on the top...which is the brown sugar and flour and butter.

Heather, one of my favorites is cut up yams drizzled with olive oil, placed in baking pan for 30-40 minutes, removed - I toss in blue cheese crumbles and walnuts (or pine nuts, almonds, or cashews) and serve.

oh, and cinnamon in the crumb mix, too. Not to much.

My daughter and I love sweet potato oven fries. We peel them and cut in sticks like french fries. Spray a baking sheet with butter flavored cooking spray and lay the fries out on the pan. Sprinkle with your favorite seasonings, we like either or a combination of chipotle flakes, paprika, rosemary, chili powder, kosher salt, black pepper, seasoned salt, etc. Place in a 400 degree oven for around 15 to 20 minutes and enjoy. I like catsup on mine and my daughter likes mayo.

Another favorite sweet potato recipe I often make when sweet potatoes are in season is the Sweet Potato biscuit from Martha Stewart's Everyday Food Magazine. It was in the Nov. 2003 issue and I've made it several times since. We love them. I'm making some this weekend since sweet potatoes are on sale. Here's the link to that recipe:

You'll need to click on the blue Sweet Potato Puree link when you get there and first make that to go in the recipe for the biscuits. We also love mashed sweet potatoes and fix them just like we do regular mashed potatoes.

well, I found the recipe, but it is just scribbles that my husband wrote down of what goes in it and not really clear...

We don't often follow recipes in this house.

But the sweet potatos just have butter, sugar, brown sugar, a bit of milk and 2 eggs.

Then we make a topping out of
1 c coconut
1 c pecans
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup flower
bake at 375 for 25 min

I just like plain sweet potatoes, maybe a bit of butter and cinnamon.

got to put cinnamon and butter on them.Just bake them they are good with just butter.

my mother adds pineapples not alot, cinnamon ,butter, and alittle maple syrup

I like them baked or mashed

I will put in either pineapple or peaches. I use some ( maybe half)of the juices from the fruit and then add a little brown sugar and butter. Marshmallows are optional.

That's how I want to make mine; just with marshmellows, brown sugar and the yams - as most main ingredients. ;)

I'm looking for a recipe now... hehe! ;)
