Toy Suggestions please

Ok its almost christmas time already.  and my inlaws are wanting suggestions what to get my kids.  Can anyone recommend any toys. 

My kids are:

Madison she just turned 5 the other day

Austin will be 6 right before xmas

Jonathan and Joshua will be 3 in January

Get the ad's out, and have the older two circle a few items they like. My 5 year old will be turning 6 just after Christmas. Some things on her list were Dora (which has too many recalls for my peice of mind, so she won't be getting Dora this year), barbies, care bears, a new magna doodle, aqua doodle, and littlest pet shop toys.

great idea!! my problem is.. we are going to be cutting down on toys as it is.. we are thinking one toy box per room... ect. so i'm looking for more educational toys. maybe a few regular ones.
A noble goal! We have the same rule- the kids don't play with the toys much, nor are they kept in one peice if they have lots of parts. We regularly clear out the clutter, and pass it on to Goodwill. How about maybe starting a game collection for all the kids to enjoy as they grow- chutes & ladders, memory, candy land, trouble, sorry, etc. You could get card games, too- go fish, crazy 8's, & war.

The games could be stored in a closet in the hall if there is room, then take them down and have everyone play games from time to time. It helps with counting, understanding & following rules, and recognition.

my son keeps pointing out the digital studio by fisher price does anyone have it?
No, but my daugher has been clamoring for that, too. If it were a bit cheaper, I might consider that.

In the spring, we're hoping to upgrade my computer to a new one, and the kids will get my old one. I want to get that digital art studio as well as that thing that blocks out all websites, and jumps you to character specific websites. That way, she can play on it without making a mess of anything else on the computer.

my twins are getting the thomas the train laptop by vtech.. my suggestion.. nana is going to get it for them.. maybe then they will leave my laptop alone?

I am thinking of getting my six year old the Fisher Price digital camer. Victoria H. has it for her daughter and just bought another one for her son. She says they are great. She has even posted pics, through a childs eye. her name is vmhardway@gather.com,She has posted an article regarding the digital cameras too. check it out.

I was going to get the camera for my oldest last year he is very good at taking pictures! but i heard it was bad quality of pictures. I mean a great toy..but not for someone who actually loves taking pictures ya know but I will check her out thanks

I am totally stumped. Money is tight this year and from looking at the WalMart catalog almost everything in that book is 39.95 to $300.00. I went shopping today for a present for my wife. She wanted a nice calculator. I visited more than 10 stores looking for a calculator which was not make in China. There are none. Even the new Texas Instrument (Radio Shack) calculators are made in China. I got her the calculator, 1000 wet-wipes and I'll have her tested for lead poisioning every few months or so.

I am really upset by what is happening in (and to) this country.

good question..

I know I am getting my boys ages 18 months and 3 years old a picnic table and a rug that has a cars map on it for them to play with there cars on it and have a track..

my daughter is 7 and has her ears pierced and likes jewelry and thing.. She also likes art things. If your daughter likes art things at walmart you can get kits that include like a jewelry box and things to paint and decorate it.. thats something fun and does not have to be done a specific way..

Boy age 6.. That would depend on what he likes.. If he likes transformers and things like that then anything transformers would do..

It is always so hard to come up with gifts for the kids each year. I always buy what seems good & they like but half of it doesn't get played with. With so many choices and so much variety, it's very hard to find the good stuff that will be worth the money.

I saw that someone mentioned The Littlest Pet Shop toys. My daughters love those and will be getting more this Christmas. (They are 4 & almost 8) I also buy them clothes and things too. Being girls, they love to get new clothes.

I always felt toys were brought by Santa and the in laws could buy clothes. Of course there may be an item/toy that your youngster just has to have...well if it is expensive ahve a couple of in laws go in together and get it. I did that one year and it worked out nice.

Also I feel certain educational games and toys should be given by others.

All these decisions!!! Thank heaven my kids are grown...I just have the grand kiddies to gt for and they are always thrilled no matter what I get them.
