As a teen, I loved Exodus.
It taught me about a society and religon, Hebrews, I had never had contact with. I don't really remember what the characters names were. But each stood on thier own to carry the story along.
Tons. I put them down and will not finish them. There are too many good writers out there to waste my time on junk. Mostly they were poorly developed plots. Some of them must have been related to the publishers.

Sorry, 20-something is all I can manage. The book she thinks every teen should read is Robert Heinlein's Stranger in a Strange Land. This is NOT a young adult book, but pretty much challenges every unexamined tenet of American life.

My daughter Amy is reading the Pretties, Ughlies, and Specials series or the Twight, New Moon and Eclipse series. Both are very popular with the middle school high schoolers. She has read the entire Harry potter series and loved that too.

She has risen....She loved A Million Little Pieces by James Frey ........any books by Sara Manning and the ones I suggested she read all books by Janet Evanovich.

Christian loved the last Harry Potter book, he reports, because,"it's interesting and I've read the series." For school they last read "Night" by Elie Wiesel and he liked it more because they were studying the Holocaust, which helped to understant the book better. Fantasy fiction and series books are his favorite--Artemis Fowl is on the list.

2.Why? What was it that spoke to you about that book? Was there a character you related to most? Thoughts on why?

Because its the only one he has read lately. He use to be an avid reader but now he is into sports and girls, he seldom has time for books. He read this one for school. Sorry I wasn't much help to you.

Billy, and I know it is late, but he and I are still up, said his favorite book was Hitch hikers Guide to the Galaxy, the reason he liked it was it is funny, and he can't remember a favorite characters name, he also like the Outsiders, I don't know either of these books, but he reads all the time, He said he never read a book he didn't like because if he saw it was no good, stopped, a good answer I think .. My teen's not home. I know he disliked reading Pride and Prejudice - said he hated it, then said "but she gets better," as he continued reading. He did finish it, because he had to (for school) and because it was "less boring" as it went on. (He's called Alan.)
