My husband and I went to Mt. Pleasant and Charleston, SC this weekend. I thought I would share a few pics from the trip with you all. I will post them in several different articles because I am having trouble loading all the pics into one for some reason.
This shot was taken at sunset at the Naval and Maratime museum (rt).

The museum is in this retired aircraft carrier. There were probably fifty or more planes inside. There were also about fifty boyscouts there at the time. If you are looking for a great camping trip for groups of fifty or more, this is one. The group sleeps in the cabins on navy bunks. They eat on the carrier. The meals are prepared in a modernized galley. Groups are educated about how ship life is as well as about naval history.

These are a few of the planes on the airstrip of the carrier.

I took this shot from the airstrip. It is a fairly new suspension bridge in the Charleston area.

This is a silhouette of the harbor at sunset next to the carrier.

A fairly new exhibit outside of the carrier is a replica of a US Naval base during the Vietnam Conflict.

This is a silhouette of the very top of the aircraft carrier # 10

Sunset from the carrier's window
Upon leaving the museum, we went just outside to the picnic area and enjoyed a Charlie Daniel's Concert they were having in honor of Veteran's Day. Daniel's put on an awesome show. He is a good man and patriot from what I know of him.

There is more of my weekend trip to come . . . .
