And you too could know my love.
Its way of splitting the spectrum of feelings,
Its colours would be unseen by eyes,
Sounds wide, silences narrow
Would turn the ear as the wind drives sails.
And you too would know what love
Driven wild could do to them that sense
Its power in the marrow of their bones,
Its pain in the needles in theirs hearts
That rage likes fires, drown like oceans rising.
And to know it, not to fear?
No! Rather to hold it with both hands
To squeeze the very juices from its power,
That drives the rain, which feeds the land
That brings the glorious beauties to the sight.
And you too knowing this strange mystery,
This explosion within, this roaring volcano
Which spits with gusto its overpowering lava
Through the veins and nerves of our being,
Would understand the conservation of love and life.
