Cash Option

It took about 3 maybe 4 weeks for my invite for the cash option. So if in October you got your 3000pts then you probably won't get the invite for another week or two...
It just depends on how busy they are and how many others earned the option as well...

But I have also read on here before, in another article, that it goes by a person to person basis, so some people don't get the option even if they do earn the points, it just depends on the type of participation I guess...

Sorry Michael, I'm just as confused as you are. I haven't gotten any e-mails from gather about the cash option, or gift cards. Hope someone can help you.

I'm not sure. I still trying to get to 1000.

I think Vivian is right. I read somewhere that it is on a person by person basis, so one person may be offered the cash options when they get enough points but another may not even if they have the points.

I haven't reached that point yet, so I don't have a clue.

Once you reached $50 earnings you are eligible to cash your points in dollars

HI Michael. If you've earned the equivalent of $50 in Gather points (3125 points) in one calendar month and all of those points are from non-promotional activities, then you'll be eligible for the cash program, if you live in the U.S.. It's not on a person to person basis though, like some people have suggested. Everyone who lives in the U.S. and earns 3125 non-promotional Gather points in one calendar month is eligible to switch over to the cash program if they want.

Gather will send you an invitation to your personal, non Gather email, so please make sure that you have a current email address on file. Gather does require you to fill out a W-9 to switch to the cash program and if you've earned over $600 in gift cards or cash from Gather, you'll be required to report that information to the IRS.

Are you thinking of accepting a cash option? I doubt I'll ever get that many points in a single month so I won't have to worry about it.

Wow, I've never gotten close to getting the points needed to get the cash option! I think in total I've gotten maybe 1100 points and that's been since March! I just don't get on enough... I really enjoy posting my own things when I get a chance and I love looking at the photography here. The points are a great perk to it all.

I never get that many points in a month!!

I've received the option three times now and refused it all times. I like the gift cards!

i should have gotten the cash option, too, and didn't. I don't care. i don't wanna pay taxes on it.

I don't get enough points to get the cash option every month, but even if I did, I don't tink I would want it, having to pay taxxes and all...I like the gift cards, I guess it's mopre fun to go shopping at the store with the gift cards, and Iknow if I got the cash, I would have to pay bills with it...it's nice to be able to spend something on myself every now and then! (did that make sense to u?)

I'm sure by now they have offered you cash. Because i don't live in the States, Gather tax people don't know what to do with me so I'll stay on gift cards.
