Daily Whine and Shine - November 12, 2007

Nothing I want to share at the moment, but I appreciate the opportunity if I need to later.

It was fun having hubby's daughter here for the weekend, although this week we didn't do anything very special. She left me two signs/drawings she made. One says, "My special step-mom" with hearts and stars on it. The other says, "You're a star. Keep up your great attitude" with a picture she drew of me (I'm guessing). How sweet, huh?

Aches and pains are the usual, with an added kick because of the cold and damp. My stomach is killing me too. And my hands are throbbing. Must sleep soon.

not much going on around here....... so not much to share

It's Monday! BLAH! Going back to the noisey office this morning is not sounding like any fun to me! Oh well... it pays the bills! Hope everyone else has a great day!

Today is a pretty good day. Like youi all I am not fond of Monday's or the cold. But we still have the spring to look forward to. To me that is a good thing. When it starts getting warm weather I know if I am not in a hospital and someone is up to dragging me out I know that then is when I get to do more.

I'm feeling rather lazy today. Perhaps it's because the sky is gray, not bright and sunny. Or because I'm stiff in addition to the pain, making me more slower than usual. Perhaps it's because Christmas is coming and there's no money for gifts.

I'm happy about one thing...I actually went to bed at a normal time and woke up when the rest of the world awakes. This has been such a challenge. My sleep schedule gets so screwed up...half the time I don't know what day it is!

Good for you, Vana. I love it when I can be on a schedule like the rest of the world.

Yeah, I know they can, Dina. And I just realized that I have 2 doc appointments at the same time. Well, one at 1 and one at 1:15 in two different buildings. Have to make some calls.

Marilyn your sounding in the mood I been in about the time mom told me I was not going to get that Christmas money she promised me. Like you I counted on that money to get me what I wanted this Christmas whitch was not much by my thinking just a trip out from under everyone for a few weeks. Heck I would not even had minded a week in spite of the cold weather and my resent cold. That is why I refuse to let my resent money problems get me down. They think they have beat us well Girl we just have to get up off our kesters and work harder to prove we have not been brought down yet. So here is my challenge to you. In spite of everything I challenge you to Do like the old days Put up a tree using thing you and your Step Daughter make. Work together make it her project and you 2 make you and her a special Christmas after all you said in one of your other post she considered you her special step mom. So I am thinking show her what a special step mom you can really be by making it a old fashond Christmas. Hows that for a idea. We know Marilyn can do it dont we you all?

Totally furious at my boss again for going back on his word, cutting my work hours and causing more confusion than necessary to do my job properly. It looks as if I am going to start looking for another job and tell my boss that he needs to take some business classes as to how to run a business and how to efficiently earn more revenue/profit than throw it literally away on frivilous stuff.

Sounds good on paper, Angela, but Tiff is in a really materialistic time right now. She showed us a catalog of clothes she wants. Some kind of sports catalog for girls. The shorts were about $29 each, the tank tops $19, some of the sweat pants were $59! And she marked at least one item on every page that she really, really wants. She's not interested in homemade stuff, she wants stuff you can buy...and she wants only name brands.

Diana, I'm sorry work isn't going well. Sadly, there are many mangers and company owners who could use more education - in how to deal with employees and customers. That's the world today...

Well I meant well I was trying to cheer you up. Besides at this age they all want everything they see. I was just trying to say its not things that they really hunger for it is love and if past conversations we have had are any indication I am guessing the real mom that raised her Taught her that things are what you have to have to show love. And maybe this is her way of asking for love in her own way that is different from what her mom taught her maybe it is her way of saying I know you can not get it but in her young mind she just is not sure how to exspress it right. I am still all for banning as a family and doing like you say about the other young kids of the world be strong for her and show her the value of a true normal christmas. I know you can do it and it don't take being mean to a child to do it as I know you well know that. I am just saying I believe in you as I think we all here do. I mean well I just only thought to be helpful.

It's a nice day outside, so even though it's monday, I am happy.

Weather turned out better than normal today. Supposed to reach 65. Don't know if it will/has. (Strangely, Cincinnati's high temperatures are usually between 4 and 6 pm. Never have gotten used to that.)

Sadly, Angela, I don't Tiff is going to be happy with anything less than lots of "things" for Christmas. I don't know how much we'll have her for the holidays. Wish she could spend some of her break time here, but that never happens.

Weird. For some reason, I've been thinking about when my son was about 18 months old and had a toy that he loved - a Sesame Street telephone. His favorite thing was to ring up Oscar the Grouch who said, "Have a rotten day." My son repeated those words, then lauged and laughed.

Guess I was having a rotten day today...and thought of Oscar.
