Barry Sadler said it best in his song, "A Salute To The Nurses"....! Many of us walking around today are doing so because of ther great gals & guys who worked on us, worked with us & God knows, prayed over us....! A civilian but an RN, Martha Raye, was made an honoray Lt. Col. of Special Forces, for her efforts as a nurse to aid & assist Green Berets when ordered her chopper pilot to divert, off-load her musicians & team, then take her to the scene of a nasty foirefight where she rendered aid to wounded Green Berets as they were tagged, loaded & sent to such great hospitals in Nam as the 71st. Evac in Pleiku. No Nam nurse can buy a drink in any drinking establishment if a Nam vet is present & aware of who she is...!

Speaking of being appreciative I want to thank you so much for your support and prayaers during Shan's illness. You will never know how much your kind words helped when I came home to an empty house.

That is so true, that are a lot of people involved in the wars besides the soldiers, who also put their lives in the line. They should all be remembered.

Thanks for this reminder Debbie, yes many nurses gave their lives and many served and are serving. Those captured and tortured by Japan during the WW2 era, suffered more than anyone can ever know. Bless them all,
