Ok, I love to read and those that know me, know this.

I would love to know some of your favorite authors.   I enjoy mysteries but I am always willing to learn of new authors.   I have gotten tips on alot of new authors since getting really active in Gather over the last several months.

Please share your favorite author and your favorite types of books?

My favorite author is me, of course, not only because I'm stuck with him, but I write the things I like.

Nora Roberts and Luanne Rice and also Kristen Hannah. They are suspense/romance novels. I have probably over 100 of their books and I'd like to sell them, but just don't know where. You see them at these larger flea markets, but there is none right in this area.

I love Stephen King, Ann Rule, some Dean Konntz anything that makes me squirm and turn on all the lights, both inside and outside the house! LOL

Stewart Woods and the Kellerman's (Faye and Jonathan) are my favs! And yes, I love to read... but unfortunately text books consume the majority of my reading time.

My favorite book is Morgan's Run by Colleen McCullough, but some other great authors are Augesten Burroughs, Phillippa Gregory, Anne Rice & more.
I love to read so much! I just finished Prisoner of Tehran this morning & started a new book.

I love to read but most folks would be bored with the books on my shelves. I read a lot of non-fiction. When it comes to fiction I love the classics. Some of my all time favorite authors are F. Scott Fitzgerald, Chaim Potok, Dickens, James Thurber, Garrison Keillor, Truman Capote, Cervantes , and Carson McCullers.

I like Sandra Brown. She has a bit of everything in her books. Start with Envy if you'd like to give her a try. I really enjoyed that book!

I love to read, too! Just finished a book titled, "Amy and Isabelle," by Elizabeth Strout. Also a book by Elizabeth Berg, "Range of Motion." Anything by her is good. And anything by Alice Hoffman. And John Hassler. Those are just a few of my favorites. I use the library and Half Price Books and Goodwill to get my supply!

We are HUGE readers here!!!! We have more books than our local library I imagine. And we go through them every now and then to weed them down some.

We both like Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series. They are absolutely hysterical. My husband laughs so hard that I often think he's going to either fall of the chair or quit breathing.

Donald is the reader. He likes Stephen Kings -Dark Tower Series, but you just keep having to buy the next book or series, waiting for them to be published. He reads Nora Roberts.
He has really like liked Texas Trilogy by Sandra Brown

i like 2 read anything except philosophy and religion. i like autobiographies.and thrillers. sherlock holmes is my fav fictitious character

I'm with you, a good mystery is my favorite. Authors I never miss:
Dean Koontz, Stephen King, John Grisham, James Patterson, Iris Johansen, Nora Roberts, Johnathan Kellerman, John Sanford.
When I need a change of pace I always read Mave Binchy but she doesn't write a lot of books. Autobiographies are a favorite also.

There was this book that I gave a chance (I am not one to just randomly get any author...) Robin Cook's book Shock! Let me just say I was shocked LOL jk ;o). It is about in vitro & scientific research done with it....like women donating their eggs...yeah it is really easy to read (nice flow) and it is an interesting thing that makes you really think. Robin Cook is a doctor by profession turned Author...so he knows his stuff when it comes to medical stuff ;o).

Orsen Scott Card is an AWESOME writer! Stone Tables is a story about Moses & I really connected with how he lived & how it is today...great story! He has other great works!

I'm going through a stage of self-help books now. The latest is "Reinventing my Life." I've almost finished it, but I've decided I like my life as it is and I don't really want to reinvent it!
I like to read christian suspense novels. My favorites are by Dee Henderson and Terri Blackstock and James Scott Bell. Books I love to read that keep me on the edge of my seat and up reading all night because I can't put it down.
I also like to read books by Joyce Meyer, I'm reading her new one, I Dare You right now.
If we're talking old favorites that you go back to over and over I love the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I started reading them when I was 8 and I stopped counting the times I read them all over again(all of them) when I got to the 20th time.

I am reading two self-health books at present. I like to read books by Bill O'Reilly, I do not agree with him on all but I like his work, most people would find this boring. I like to read books by Joel Osteen and TD Jakes.

Jeffrey Deaver is my new best author. He is a great man too! He is a best-selling novelist, and he answered EVERY EMAIL I sent him! He answered with humbleness, and he encourages me to keep bugging agents to take my manuscript. I read his book: "The Bone Collector." I was transfixed to that book until I was done! My eyes were watering, and I kept reading!

hi Pam... this may sound funny, but i love to read
Reader's Digest and magazines with short stories and
stories of God's miracles... stuff like that... and,
of course, all the short stories here
on Gather are super too...

Right now, I'm reading "Letters from Nuremburg" by Christopher Dodd. It is quite an interesting book about a very interesting time. Usually, I read some fiction and some non-fiction. Reading is my favorite pastime.

I do love to read. When we travel, we listen to books on tape too. So even though we are not acturally reading,,....it feels like we are.
