Cheddar Herbal Biscuits
Serves: 8 (well, not really, if you're pigs like us, serves 4)
Prep. Time: 0:15
2 cups Bisquick® baking mix
1-cup milk (I use Carnation Evaporated)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1 tablespoon chopped thyme
1/4 cup butter or margarine - melted
1/4 tsp. garlic powder or 4 cloves finely chopped garlic
(It’s fine to substitute low-fat ingredients.)
-Combine Bisquick®, milk, cheddar, parsley and thyme and beat with a wooden spoon for about 30 seconds.
-Spoon on to greased cookie sheet. Smooth tops down with spoon.
-Bake in 450-degree oven for 8 - 10 minutes.
-Combine butter and garlic powder. Melt on stovetop. Pour over hot biscuits.
These biscuits are similar to the ones they serve at Red Lobster, but are my own version. I prefer to use fresh herbs. We grew an over abundance of parsley this year, which I really don't know how to keep if anyone has any suggestions. I want to dig it up and replant in smaller pots, bringing it indoors for the winter; but don't know if this will work.
