I'm wondering if anyone can identify this plant for me. I know it is in the aloe family but I'm not sure of its name.
Back in the 90's, it was a small plant growing in my backyard in FL. I put it in a pot and before I knew it, it spread from one tiny plant to about six larger plants. It continued to spread and soon I was snipping off ends and putting them in other pots. I left them with a daughter when I moved to TN four years ago but brought a cutting with me. I now have three pots of these plants and the more I cut, even just break off a leaf and stick in the ground, the more they grow.
The have pointed, sharp along the sides, leaves and they sprout new leaves continually which then develop into new plants. They do have an aloe gel inside them but the leaves are quite thin and not thick like a normal aloe plant. I'm including pictures.
I would love to know what they are called. If anyone can tell me, I'll send them a copy of my "Group Leaders Travel FREE" e-book.
Thanks everyone, have a great weekend and please remember all our Veterans--they gave so much for us.
Blessings,
Mary Mc

ALOE PLANT.
If you break in half one of the "leaves" it will seep a whiteish creamy sap that is the aloe and you can apply it to burns, wounds and it will heal them.
LOL....:)
I will get a copy of the e book off to both of you this weekend. It's in PDF format.

ALOE CILIARIS or Climbing Cactus. I'll put the picture on my home page and you can tell me if you think they look alike.
I promise you--a few months ago I looked all over the web for info about my plant. Never thought to look on ebay but then I wasn't an ebay member then.
"Aloe plants are wonderful houseplants. Soothing, healing aloe vera.
Aloes do well indoors or outdoors in partial shade, when there is no chance of frost.
Easy to grow, no trouble to care for. They multiply very fast and are easy to propagate.
Keep one in your kitchen for those occasional burns and cuts that are common.
The healing properties will serve you well."
I have a huge one in my backyard
just wanted to share. Good luck with your plant. good for burns too.l
I now have three pots with them and all from two little cuttings four years ago. Thinking of selling some on eBay.
Little known fack.
An aloe plant that has not flowered is not ready for use for healing.
Also where you grow it from a baby will determine westher it will grow best. I have had ones grown in full sun do as well as those in the house or out in shade.
