I went to see this one last night, I know I have not been writing about all the movies I have been going to lately!
This story is disturbing, this story is fictional..but it has basis. This movie had me and my friend horrified that in today's day and age..this could happen. An Egyptian National, who has been living in the US since he is 14, is on his way home from South Africa. When he departs the plane he is taken into custody as a suspected terrorist.
He had been receiving missed calls while away from an unknown caller. In the beginning of the movie you see him calling his American wife, Isabella played by Reese Witherspoon. He asks her has she called and he keeps getting a missed call message.
The movie then goes into the secret CIA goings on and the "interrogative" practices used. This movie also was a wake up call to me, unfortunately I believe this is based on more truths than I would like to see. This movie involves torture, and how an innocent family man can be targeted. Jake Gyllenhaal plays an CIA agent who oversees the interogation and instantly realizes that this man is innocent, but both governments don't care. Torture him until he talks. Jake's character risks his career to save this man.
I know this movie didn't do so hot in the theatre, but it is not because of the acting. It shows what is truly going on in our world. People don't want to know....
