What's everyone's plans for Thanksgiving?

I thought this year we were going to be on our own, but alas, my Dad called and him and his wife want to make the trip North to see us.  I was so excited........then last week my aunt called from NY and she and her family want to come too!!!!!!

I am so glad they are coming.  I love family at the holidays!!!!!!

What are everyone's plans for this upcoming Thanksgiving???

 It's two weeks away!!!!!!

Either going to my brother's. I've been trying to get in touch with him about the plans. Or going to my friend's in-laws (who are like my second parents).

Wow, I just can't believe that there are only 2 weeks til Thanksgiving...

We don't have any family that lives closeby. They all live 1200+ miles away. But we are supposed to go over to some friends house. We went last year too.

well normally I cook for everybody, but haven't even thought of it this year, guess I REALLY need to find out if somebody else might be up for it this year.... I will miss the left overs if I don't do it though.

We're having Thanksgiving with my family on the 17th and with my husband's family Thanksgiving Day. I can feel the weight gain already.

I'm invited to my son and dil's- it has become their holiday...and I am so happy to relinquish it! All of our family and all of my dil's will be there, and it will be a beautiful meal. ( served after the Packer game!)

I'm going to be at home with my mom this year. Unfortunately my mom's allowed my sister to come home from college for Thanksgiving (a choice she had denied my sister before due to my sister's behavior), so I'm not thrilled.

First, love your cute little turkey! My husband's family and my nephew and his wife are coming from California -- I'm excited to see them. We will be joining my family at my Mom and Dad's house, so it will be one huge celebration. Can't wait!

I will have family to dinner, eat too much, watch some football and fall asleep.
That sounds just like our plan, except for the football. We don't do football. :-)

I get to go see my parents and little brother in Arizona. Was supposed to meet up in Chicago and see other family, too, but my little bro just had surgery and cannot travel as they basically broke both his legs and he is in a cast waist to knee.

My children and I have rented an incredible home in Cambria (up the central coast in CA)...I barely lift my head off the pillow to be greeted by a 180 degree Pacific Ocean view...we'll eat dinner out this year at a wonderful, family owned restaurant right on the beach followed by trails and trails of hiking along the cliffs and tide pools. Cooking and baking for my husband, cousin, son and then making sure that our aunt who has to stay home has a Thanksgiving dinner as well. C'mon over?

Hosting the wife's family with an open invite to anyone in my family that wishes to show up. We cook two birds, make a ton of mashed potatoes, and the wife makes her excellent version of stuffing. Her family members bring all sorts of dishes and deserts to go with it. We usually make an all day event out of it. If we are lucky, all of our college age kids pop in, sometimes bringing friends.(last year we had a guy from Brazil, one from Argentina, and one from Chicago come in with our son.) Normally, a good time is had by all.

We host Thanksgiving now -- somehow we ended up doing it last year to help out my in-laws and now it's "tradition"! I don't really mind but I have so much to do to get ready and I hate cleaning -- I really do :-) I'd rather read a book or play with the kids :-) But we'll manage -- I do make a really good pumpkin pie and the kids love to help with that.

Since my parents have decided to vacation in Washington DC through the Thanksgiving Holiday, we are probably going to go out for Thanksgiving dinner, doesn't make much sense cooking a huge meal for just 2 people. Yea, we would have leftovers, but most of them would go to waste..just too much food for 2.

have everyone help out.. remember Thanksgiving is being Thankful for family.. My son and his girlfriend (when will she become fiancee!! They've been together 4 years now!!!) will be flying into Orlando on Thanksgiving and stay til Monday! Haven't seen him in 7 months!! And my dtr and her fiance (sure they got engaged after knowing each other less than 6 months!!!) will be around the table as well as their two spastic puppies!!
