I previously posted this article and it ended up flagged not for the content of the article but for the comments and the negativity in those comments. Someone chose to insult a few people for the fact that they had dreams and wishes and the person doing the insulting claimed to not believe in dreams or wishes at all. Even though in another article they had played along with someone else in a similar type of game. I think many of you have ran into this person who was making these comments on a few other occasions and I do not think that a lot of that interaction was of a pleasant and friendly nature. I found myself responding to that person and maybe even going down to their level in an attempt to beat this person at their negative attitude first I thought doing that to defend other people who did choose to play along with this was the right thing to do and I am still glad that I did it. However part of me now sees the futility of that because i realize that some people just don't get it and they probably never will. So I would like to just throw the content of the orginal article out there again and invite everyone to play along in a game of fantasy, wishes and dreams. Because i don't know about you but to me even knowing that just wishing doesn't change much I still enjoy the brief escape from reality that it provides and the hopefulness that it also offers towards believing that just about anything may be possible. So please ladies and gentlemen play along with this in the lighthearted way in which it has always been intended?
Okay you are walking along the beach and in the sand you see something shining up at you. You go to check it old and find it is an old fashioned oil lamp. There is something written on it but it is smudged over with crusty sand so you can't see what it says. You rub it a bit and instead of it coming clean; smoke starts to raise out of the opening. Out of that smoke forms a genie in a turban. The Genie says thank you for freeing me from my 1000's of years of being imprisoned in that lamp. Than the Genie says "okay after I go see a good chiropracter I will come back and give you three wishes". what a selfish Genie that is who thinks of their own self first and wants to get that annoying cramping out of their back that a couple thousand years in a small lamp can cause!
The Genie gets to the chiropracter and than comes back and says okay it is time for those three wishes now. The Genie also says that "The board of genie's have now placed some restrictions on this wishing thing" Darn government wants to get involved in everything these days it seems. These conditions aren't all that bad really; they are that you can use one of these wishes for a personal thing and that the other two have to be used to change two world events that have taken place in the last ten years and have affected the whole world. Now the question is my Gather friends; what would your three wishes be?
I will start with my own:
My first wish and the personal one is that Terry and I would find a way to combine two families that consist of us and four teenagers (one bordering on 17 year old girl {mine}, one already 17 year old girl {her's}, one 18-2/3rds young man {mine} and one two days away from being a 19 year old young man {her's}) and bring them all into one house or one combined future with all of us being happy and secure in what we have put together.
My second wish and the first world changing one would be to have had the ability to have stopped the events of 9-11 from ever taking place.
My last one would be to have been able to change the presidental elections of 2000 and for Al Gore to have been given what he rightfully won at that time. This one I think would have changed so many things afterward and in fact may have actually been a factor in 9-11 not happening at all.
Okay; your turn? Quickly now because the lamp was made in China and was painted with lead paint and could be recalled at any minute now!!

I'm afraid to wish.....
A box with money and when you take some out it gets instantly replaced, so I can share with anyone anywhere at anytime and still have more to give out.......no one will ever go hungry again if I have my wish........I only need one wish...I'll give the other two away...
Thank you Bob, for not putting up with the nonsense. WOW! These questions are tuffies.
My personal wish: that my health would straighten up so that my husband and I could move forward together instead of me feeling like my health is a hindrance. I cant function on any level I used to; I guess I am not "aging " gracefully.
I wish that 9-11 had never happened. It put such an evil spin on life.
My third wish is that global warming could have more attention and be reversed.People that live close to the land and animals can see "it" more sharply than most.
Wish #1: To be someone else for a week...
Wish #2: Have Dick Cheney turn DOWN the nomination for Vice President.
Wish #3: Have a record exec listen to Britney Spears', "Hit Me Baby One More Time," and in a fit of madness, erase all the magnetic copies and destroy the demo. (trust me, the invention of Britney Spears was a world event)
1.....I wish I was 29 yrs old again, and never got any older( My best year, lol)
2.....I wish there were no diseases.
3.....I wish for no more wars or hunger til the end of time.
Chas, great wishes all and are you saying that Britney is a global epidemic? The good thing about someone like her is that she only gets that 15 minutes or so ofthat fame. Unfortunatly I think Fall back hit while she was getting it and someone give her an extra hour.
Ann, you mean you aren't 29????? how about maybe at least in spirit? Great wishes on the others also. If I event the reverse and hold aging machine anytime soon, you will be the first person I let know about it. That is of course after Terry and myself!
#2 I wish all of the political prisoners were set free to live there lives as normal out spoken people. I don't believe just talking or holding up a sign is a crime.
#3. Whatever butterfly flapping it's wings caused Hurricane Katrina was eaten by a bird.
1) To find true love
2) To have endless money so that I'll never have to worry about struggling, and I could support myself and others
3) To not die in pain
My second wish would be to have two entirely different, highly qualified candidates participate in the 2000 election.
My third wish would be for our government to get out of other countries' business unless it puts us in direct, indisputable danger of hostility or destruction (ie. Somalia, Iraq, Korea, etc.).
Second, happiness for me and mine
Third, money to have a good, comfortable life for all.
As for the other two, well, stopping 9/11 seems a no brainer. The third however could be quite different from yours. I voted for Bush and would again but I'll stay out of that area. (I have several friends with whom I will not talk politics, just for the sake of the friendship. In the USA we do have the right to disagree.)
I'd use my third wish to have a viable alternative to gasoline developed so we are not dependent on OPEC. And if that could involve burning the trash to get power and secure the environment it would be even better.
Second wish: Totally there with the Bush thing...um...I would make sure he didn't get elected illegally.
Third wish: Everything happening in Darfur.
2nd wish=Cure for all types of cancer
3rd wish= three more wishes......................
