My daughter loves to bake cookies. We've been baking cookies for Christmas along with her brother since they were very young. My daughter is now 25 and her brother 23. She's actually a much better cookie baker than I am now and she even bakes with her little cousin during the holidays and bakes cookies for gifts. Her brother makes the best peanut butter balls during the holidays.
Thinking about this got me to wondering do any of you have a holiday cookie or other cooking tratidion that you do with your children or grandchildren or used to do? Do you have favorite cookies you make every year? Do you try new ones?
Sarita, my daughter has a few that she makes every year but she also likes to add new ones to try. Some of her favorite places to find those new recipes besides cookie cookbooks are the Land O Lakes Cookie magazine that comes out each year around this time as well as the one from Better Homes and Gardens's which she got a month or so back. Then there is the 12 Days of Cookies Newsletter that comes from the food network web site that you can sign up for at:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/12_days_of_cookies
That newsletter will start on Nov 28th and you'll get a recipe per day for 12 days in your email. They usually have a special on the food network each year about the new cookies and repeats of previous years.
