FYI....

 

The Space Shuttle is coming back down to Earth today
and will be taking a path across the United States.


Hubby says it'll be crossing over us here in Oklahoma around 11:41 am to 11:49am.

We are in Central Time Zone.

It's traveling West to East.

Get your cameras and binoculars out.

I saw the Shuttle, with and without binoculars, the fly time over us seemed really long! How exciting is that! Hubby took pictures...I'll post them once we get them uploaded. Didn't hear the sonic boom, which I was really looking forward to. But I was happy with seeing, Every one thank Hubby, he's the one who reminded me!

Yes, safe and sound Shannon. Hubby was taking video of the fly over and he says it didn't come out...Darn it all....sigh

I'd rather the money spent on these shuttles be used for education. Sorry, for my cynicism.

Darn, I missed it, I knew that it was landing today too...
That's fine William, everyone has a right to their opinion.

It wasn't a whole lot to see, but just knowing it was the Shuttle made it worth looking at Amanda.

Great that you got to see it :) I don't watch....
Thanks Melinda, Renda and Jerri, This is the first time I've seen it with my own eyes in my own sky! Hubby and I are into Astronomy and anything to do with Space and NASA.

We used to race out to see it, and try to drag the kids with us. Kids, of course, thought computer games much more exciting.

Since moving to Tennessee we've been out of the shuttles path, but when we were in South Florida we could see launches on a clear day or night. And if we were lucky the turn around would be over our area (we were 200 miles south of the cape) And the sonic boom when it did the turn around would get your attention.
