Westward, Ho! Howdy, partner....
Our Pirate theme neighborhood party in 2006 was a hard act to follow, but we did it!

In Summer of 2007, the Pirates of Skidway Lake turned into the Skidway Cowboys! We wore western style clothing and put up signposts, a jail, and wanted posters. Being friends and neighbors does not preclude meting out justice when it is warranted. A couple of banditos had hijacked some pirate ships, including ours, at the previous summer's party. Their faces were on wanted posters and our sheriff arrested them and locked them up.

We had a covered wagon for hay riding, lots of yummy pot luck food, and our usual blind auction. If you don't know how a blind auction works, see my article called The Pirate Party.....Aaaarrrrrrrr! . It puts the fun in fundraiser!

The entertainment included karaoke performances by various individuals and groups. There was dancing and a very special surprise performance by The Skidway Girls. Dressed as saloon girls, these performers danced for us and got a standing ovation. Nobody can say our guys aren't good sports! Aren't they ravishing?
We ended the evening with a bonfire, t
alking and singing around the fire circle.
Next year we'll have a Roaring 20's party with flappers, mobsters and all that goes with it!
Anyone have suggestions for food, decorations, costumes, games or ? Let me know!
