I have a passion. It is crocheting. It is more than a passion, though. It's also therapy in more ways than one.
I love making things for other people, especially when I know I've chosen just the right color, or pattern, or something just clicks.
But... my most favorite thing to make of all things are these little bitty hats. The picture is a little blurry. I guess I was shaking when I took it. lol The one on the bottom with the daisy on it is my current favorite.
I was one of the fortunate ones that my daughter was born healthy and full term despite the odds against her. Some aren't so lucky.
Most of them go to a the Natal ICU of a local hospital. A friend's daughter is a nurse there, and I am constantly sending them to her. It's the least I can do.
I hate those little generic hats they all give them, and some of them have.... nothing. Born into this world abandoned, or drug-addicted, and stories that I don't even want to think about. This is one thing I can do to give them something wrapped in a prayer for good health and a good life.
It's not much, but it's something.

I want a daisy one, too.... :-)
And the Daisy is easy, too. I'll have to write the pattern out for that one if I can't find one online.
Dani, my friend, for you, I might could make one bigger. :)
Rebekka, it's not hard to get started again!
Thanks , folks. I can't help it. I just love making the little things.
The guideline the person who taught me told me to go by was this:
For a preemie, make it big enough to fit your fist (my hands are small) or a good sized orange.
For a full term baby, make it big enough to fit a grapefruit.
It's really sort of scary the first time you make one and size it on an orange of all things..... and then realize just how small those babies really are.
U Lovely!
Gosh, I've probably spent at Least a good half of my life up, under or in a tree! lol My constant mentors and friends...
..
U wishing you laughter
