Driving along in your van - listening to the radio, maybe talking... minding your own business.. going where you need to go .....and all of a sudden having a cow land on your van!?

The people were uninjured; the cow didn't make it - I wonder who ends up with the steak?

The article says it fell from about 60m - off of a cliff

could be, I suppose....seems like there are an awful lot of suicidal raccoons and skunks and chipmunks and deer and moose and.... why not a cow?

I shouldn't laugh here, but I did! The first thing I thought of was someone had watched "Twister" too many times..hahaha.

So glad to hear the people weren't injured, poor cow...my late hubby hit many a deer, so I know what damage something like that can do.

people who hit that cow should sue cow owner! If you hit a cow you can sue owner for not keeping it in! I heard that the other day aactually.. sucks!

Maybe in this day of genetic tampering someone combined some lemming into cow DNA and the cow was only following part of his natural urges. I taught with someone once who was driving on an interstate and a deer landed on her car after jumping a hedge that was a sheer drop on the other side. The deer went through the windshield with three of its legs. One leg went through the side of her leg taking a chunk out of the meat just above the outside of the knee, her brother was hit by one of the other two and suffered a broken leg. I was hit by a deer in the side of my car so I know the power of the impact of an animal hitting your car from the side but not from above.

There's an old story circulating up here on Lake Superior about a deer hurtling off a cliff and landing on a car driving the highway below. My hubby and I were driving home from Thunder Bay when a boulder fell from a cliff and smashed the front of our car (it was a New Year's eve mind you and we almost spent it elsewhere). I no longer drive below cliffs as nonchalantly and wonder if I should worry about falling cows as well.

I'm glad they were not hurt.I didn't laugh at the news article I laughed until I cried with some of these comments.I had to read to hubby who wanted to know what was wrong.
Tiffany,you can not sue a cow farmer for damages unless his cattle have a record of being out.If its the first time it got out,you would have a hard time suing to get the repair done.

Oh, dear. That reminds me of the famous story here in Oregon about the beached whale; the authorities couldn't figure out how to get rid of it because it was so huge, so they decided to put dynamite around it and blow it into smaller pieces. They used enough dynamite to destroy a small city, and airborne pieces of decomposing whale went everywhere. One guy's car was demolished by a piece of flying whale blubber. You have to wonder how that looked on ths insurance claim.

I would also like to point out that the cow incident is a perfect indicator of the danger of nursery rhymes. Clearly this cow had one too many rounds of "Hey diddle diddle," and decided to jump over the moon.
