I am so lucky to volunteer at a school that provides for the staff as well as the community volunteers. Today happens to be election day locally and our school is a polling place. The teachers have committee for things like lunches to be held monthly. They are helped by PTA parents. On election day it is a tradition to have the Baked Potato lunch. There is plenty of food for teachers, school staff, volunteers and the election workers.
Today the main fare was baked potatoes and there was a bounty of toppings from the usual butter and sour cream to cottage cheese and chives, shredded cheeses, steamed broccoli, bacon bits, salsa, slivered almonds and more. In addition there was a crock pot of cocktail weiners in BBQ sauce, an assortment of salads, fresh fruit, assortment of breads and desserts and hot and cold beverages.
The nice part of this is that I was able to meet and interact some of the school staff that I don't have the chance to work with. It is a wonderful tradition to bring people together.
The election workers also appreciate this thoughfulness and the lounge where the food is served is right next to the election tables. I notice that the spirits of everyone were high today. Perhaps it was the coming together for good food and good company.

Sounds like a nice little spread.
The PTO has someone to coordinate it with the parents. We have parents bring in the food. We also get some parents to volunteer in the cafeteria to sit with the class while the teachers stay in the lounge and enjoy the lunch.
The teachers loved and looked forward to it once a month.
I always loved potluck's
