My mom gets together every year with her sisters for a big shopping weekend in the fall. It's a great escape for to be with her sisters, who she loves so much but gets to see so little. I'm glad she gets to go every year, but it's kind of sad to see a family who has grown up together spread out across the country. I guess that's what America has done to many families.
It's always fun to see what they get. They do a lot of their Christmas shopping on the trip. We draw names out of a hat for gifts, but the moms always buy the gifts for all the cousins. They always have. Honestly, what would we do without our moms?
