Old as Me

Why do you judge,

That which you do not know?

Why do you go

Where you ought not go?

My life is mine,

To decide today

How ever I want

To carry on my way.

Why do you judge,

As you don't understand,

Why do you go where

You don't know the land?

I've been around,

So much longer than you.

You would not like

If I did this back to you.

Your eyes can't see,

You don't know they're blind

And you seem to think

Your's are better than mine.

You said your peace,

But I don't agree.

You will not know,

Until you are old as me.

Wonderful poem Heather!! I think judging others is such an awful thing since I grew up in a home where it was done all the time. It is a very ugly, negative thing!! We should always try to "build up" rather than "tear down"!

excellent, I feel like this a lot with my kids and nieces and nephews, you just want to tell them and they don't listen, they won't see until they grow UP
