Hi Dan! I am just getting up, and it's so cold in my house...(I live in Florida, so it's a little unusual), but I love it!! I don't work today either, so that's also great!! I have to get my son off to school though, so gotta run! Just wanted to say good morning to every one!!

we are so far away from it all here...yet the fear & hatred & ignorance is spreading like wildfire! Why did my grandfather go to war? For peace? What would he & the others make of this? Did we learn ANYTHING from their sacrifices? Aint there people studying war out there, tactically, historically? Why is it just the same over and over? Is it possible war is a normal (but horrid ) part of our culture that can never be rgone?

Why hasn't anything been done in Haitti, Cuba, Darfar, and on and on? Because those countries have nothing they can offer us! Plain and simple. It all comes down to the almighty dollar! People who say that things are happening because of the lord are the same who say that earthquakes happen because the people were bad. Clearly, plate tectonics must be wrong and Hawaii doesn't exist because volcanoes don't exist if plate tectonics don't exist. But then we'd have to get rid of the Rockies. Oh hell, how can ANYONE be so ignorant and content in turning away from reality?
Dan...you ask what is the answer? I think there are people who believe in peace, and there are those who don't. And I sadly think its a part of human nature;not in us as indivuals necessarily, but in the group dynamic. (Maybe thats why i avoid group!!!) So Jesus suggestion of turning the other cheek works for me. Do unto others. And Im not a Christian!! But I think war is the same as a family get together- people may be nice as individuals, but in a pack all sorts of instinctive games can be played. Its all about rising above instincts. Sadly, you have have to want to even begin to do that. IF we can.

Have you read any John Shelby Spong? He gives lengthy speels on how annoyed he is that people think to be a christian you have to ignore known facts. He argues that Jesus was no fool and would probably be right into science as he had intellect, wonder, questioning and challenged the old ideas.

Good morning Dan. I have been crawling around my floors looking for my babys earring back for two hours! She just got them pierced two days ago this shouldn't be happening! The place where she got them doesnt open for another 1 1/2 hours so I have to wait it out I guess.
One of the better parts of spirituality as opposed to religion is we, at least for me, I can't speak for others, there is no hell. There is life after death but not heaven and hell as the churches have depicted it.

As nasty as it is supposed to be, (periocic rain, high winds, temps in 50's) it looks like the best day by far to be working outside this week in my part of Michigan. After today the highs will be in the low to mid 40's- brrrr. I have a gardening service and I have just 3 more gardens to put to bed for the winter.
