Many of us seem to be seeking recipes for the holiday season. Either we have lost our favorite recipes or we're in the mood to try something new. I've picked up a few good ones from Gather members and have also posted a few of my favorites. Personally, I prefer recipes with fewer ingredients. There is a smaller margin of error and they're usually quicker and less messy to make.
I've found a few links online that have a wealth of recipes:
http://www.findmearecipe.com/ features recipes categorized by Geographic region, (who knew there were Swedish Tacos?) by Food category ( i.e. Cakes, Crockpot, Seafood, Appetizers) and by Occasion (i.e. Baby Shower, Christmas, Picnic, Dinner Party...) The ethnic recipes sound great for adventurous cooks and diners. Kids probably won't eat 'em.
Another favorite link has a huge store of recipes, including Copycat recipes from Restaurants and Cookbooks. 'Fess up, now, haven't you always wanted the Colonel's secret chicken recipe with those eleven herbs and spices? It is simpler than you think and only a click away! http://www.recipelink.com/index.html has a large number of cooking forums and cooks help one another by posting recipes, shortcuts or special techniques.
Another fun recipe site is http://www.thespicehouse.com/recipes-by-cuisine/american-recipes which features "American Recipes". Since Americans are of many nationalities, what is accepted as American cuisine can have its origins anywhere from Albania to Zaire. For our convenience, the good folks at this site have alphabetized the recipes from Almond to Zucchini.
Finally, a site with great variety http://www.c4vct.com/kym/bento/recipes.htm includes recipes for some really interesting dishes such as octopus-infested rice, teriyaki squid, simmered quail eggs and Spam musubi. There are plenty of more common foods, too, including tuna salad, chicken, pizza and grilled cheese sandwiches. The recipes can be found alphabetically arranged on the page called "My Lunch can beat up Your Lunch."
I enjoy cooking, baking and trying out new recipes. When my daughter left for college, I made her a special cookbook containing my recipes for all of her favorite foods. I titled it The Mom and Sarah Cookbook - Let's Go Out to The Kitchen, and used a ring binder to allow additional recipes to be included. I had great fun inserting humorous clip art and advice. Sarah is using the book and learning from it.
I will post some of our favorites soon. Hope you find some keepers in these sites.

I love checking out new recipes.
Thanks.
A winner all around. One of the first places I found when I went online in 1997.
