Well my dad was moved to a regular hospital room today. If you have not read my previous article concerning his heart surgery and all the complications...you will not know what I am talking about. But I feel as though an anvil has been lifted off my shoulders! He called me today, when they got him settled. His voice was much stronger! They have removed all IV's, and will be removing the wires in the morning. He sounded like he did before all of this began. He was giddy! haha. He said that the nurse asked him if he wanted any kind of treat or snack, and he asked her what his options were. She listed off a couple of things and then mentioned a popsicle. He told her it had been years since he had one of those! She brought him a grape popsicle, and he enjoyed it thoroughly! I am so excited, and definitely relieved! He is an amazing man, and I am so glad the Lord has allowed him to spend some more time here with us.
My step-mom is trying to get back into her normal routine now, but at the scheduled times that I call her to make sure her sugar is ok, it is all over the board still. Yesterday morning it was 59 and she ate 2 bites of a breakfast bar. The next time she checked it, it was 304. It is so scary for her sugar to be so out of control, but she is managing it very well considering the amount of stress she has been under.
I thank any and all who have mentioned us in their prayers. It means so much to be able to reach out to such a large network of people for help...even if it is just to vent, or for words of encouragement. I thank you all!
Tess
