I turned to the Food Network down at Mom's this morning just in time for Bobby Flay and was pleasently suprised to see he too had a child cooking in the outdoor kitchen with him. It was a new episode called Asian Take-Out Grilling with Allegra. Allegra is his 10 year old friend.
She seemed to be quiet comfortable helping him cook and also very knowledgeable about cooking. Bobby kept saying he wanted to teach her something new but she was very smart. He even asked her how a 10 year old knew so much about cooking but she just laughed. He finally did teach her a trick she didn't know about peeling fresh ginger root with a spoon. She was a natural and her and Bobby worked very well together. Bobby is another one who seems very comfortable cooking with children.
The Asian inspired dishes they made together looked very good. Together they made Sweet and Sour Chicken, Spicy Lamb and Soba Noodle Salad, and Spicy Hoisin Glazed Eggplant. Then Allegra showed Bobby how to make her Ginger Lemonaid. It looked very good and also had crushed blackberries in it. All the recipes execpt the Lemonaid is on the Food Network site at the following link:

The show will be repeated on Nov. 8 at 11 AM EST, if you'd like to catch it. It was a joy to watch, and I'm not that big of a Bobby Flay fan, although I do enjoy his recipes.
None of the other shows I caught had children on them but maybe some of the ones I didn't catch did. Other than Bobby the only ones I saw that weren't repeats were two of my favorites, Nigella Express, and The Gourmet Next Door. Neither of those had children either.
